It was in NV unit 61 about 4 miles south of Idaho, and I used a Kimber MT in 325 WSM with factory Win 200gr Ballistic Silvertips.

Is that the same herd that wanders up into ID between Jarbidge and Jackpot? I've seen some huge bulls in there. Quite a few have taken up permanent residence on the ID side.

I'll be using one for my deer hunt in two weeks. There are blue & ruffed grouse as well as chuckar in the same area.

Close...between Mountain City and Jarbidge but right below Idaho. I drove through that country, about getting lost at 2am the day before the cow elk hunt. Trying to make my way back to Idaho after a brief visit to Elko...

That's the country where that couple from Canada got lost 18 mo. ago. The woman was rescued after 7 weeks, the man died trying to walk for help in snow. Some hunters just found his body last week.

They found the poor guy's bones about a mile from where we were hunting that same day. We were out scouting before the opener and hunting ruffed grouse. People don't respect the high desert enough and take far too many chances that end up killing them. http://www.king5.com/news/172220151.html

The 1st warm weather of spring gets a lot of them. They'll go out on frozen roads for a day in the desert. By afternoon, the surface has melted and they get stuck 10 miles from nowhere. Then it gets cold again while they're walking to the highway in nothing but a denim jacket. By by.
