You are wrong. There are FEDERAL regulations concerning all transactions including private sales. Age and residency being two easy ones to understand... for most.

How did that pyscho get into the school? My son's daycare is locked down. Shooters mother was a kindergarten teacher. Many people apparently knew him and was therefore easy to get in. My kids school is no different. If they know you, they buzz you in. What we need is 1 full time police officer and metal detectors at the schools. NOTHING is more important than keeping our kids safe.

TRH was attempting to mislead another poster here (post #7184249) that there exists no regulation here in the US regarding "most" private firearms transactions. He is wrong. ALL transactions have rules.

Documentation, you.only get one chance to document a crime scene. Shooter dead or not. The evidence still needs to.be.collected and processed and the.story.that evidence holds has to.be.layed out.

There is another thread that addresses this. The short answer is that crime scene techs get only one chance to document a scene.
Unfortunately the more complicated the scene, they longer it takes. Even though it is assumed the perp is dead, no one knows what subsequent investigation might yield. A second shooter?
If the scene is not handled properly, questions may never be answered and attorneys could have a field day.

Your right it isn't, but that if that is what it takes that is what must be done. I stood guard over a fallen officer, who was a friend of.mine for.more than 12 hours.

Today is proof that kids are not safe in schools and this is not the first time. With metal detectors and police officer, those kids would have lived to enjoy another Christmas.
While I agree their chances would have been greatly improved it is not a given. Wasn't it Columbine where an officer died. I may be wrong as my brain is old but I remember some officer giving his life to try to stop shooters.

I don't have a TV but I can read papers, listen to the news, and if I remember right got it first from the Campfire.
