Worked in a West Coast Chain in the 70's and got stuff at cost plus 10%. Found a Rem mod 700 BDL in .308 that had been in the inventory since '64. Got if for $28. Also got my dad a Win Mod 70 in 30-06 for $95.

Bought a little British double the owners screwed up the price on, it later appraised at 10 times the amount I gave.
The other would have to be a cherry 1949 Super Grade 22 Hornet with a M8-4X long tube leupold scope for $1600 out the door.

This happened week before last. As some of you know I like Kleinguenther rifles. I have both centerfire and rimfire. I've been looking for a k-22 rimfire 22 mag. for some time. A friend owns a restaurant , where we meet an drink coffee. A man walked in an asked the group if anyone was interested in buying 2 rifles. One was a LNIB k-22. I'm now the proud owner. Hasbeen

By a percentage, it's probably a Savage 720 with US stamps that was used by the Air Force in WWII to train pilots and gunners. Paid $80 at an auction, not sure what it would bring but probably 500% of what I paid. Not that I'm selling it, just way too much history. Oh, and it came with a WW2 recoil pad for the grenade launcher for a Garand. Wonder if that was added at the gunnery school or added after the war?

Remington 700 P in .308, heavy 24" barrel, H&S Precision stock, 3-9x40 Tactical Leupold scope. It's an easy $1400-$1500 rifle. It'a an amazing shooter, even for a dumb ass like me.

I saw one of the Colt .308 AR's the LE-901 model, for $2200 at a gun show last November. I thought about it, but thought it was a little high. 3-4 weeks after Sandy Hook, one went for $7500 on GB.

Marlin Model 1894 in 44 Rem Mag. Manuf 1969 - 1984. 20" barrel, 10 shot tube magazine, adj. sights, straight grip walnut stock and forearm. Barrel seems in good condition though it has been shot. Knowing the owner, I doubt it was hardly shot as he was more a collector than a shooter. Metal condition is much better than wood. Metal condition is likely in Excellent condition but wood is more like Good. That would put it between 95% and 70%. I'll spit the diff and call it 82%.
$175, buyer to pay for shipping, insurance, tracking, delivery signature, etc via your preferred carrier.
I will accept MO, personal or cashiers check though I will not ship until my bank clears the either check. Rifle will be sent FFL to your FFL.
You've got to hand it to a blind prostitute

Found a Ruger #1 Tropical in 416 Rem at a pawnshop for $350, they thought it was rusted out but it just had some kind of grease and maybe pollen(?) all over it. I bought it clean it up, then after using it for years traded it for 900 value and I regret that....

Turned down a Model 12 20 gauge for $250 a few years ago. It was a little rough, but no pitting. Really wish I would have bought it now and had Simmons go through it.

Best deal ever was a Berreta 686 O/U. Blued receiver with gold Ducks Unlimited logo and "#1 of 850". Won that at a raffle. Didn't even pay for the ticket. Was part of my "pay" for providing security at the gun table.
Worst lost was the same shotgun. EX-wife sold it while I was out of town for $650.
