I bought a Winchester M-1 carbine for $250 back in the late
1980s through a newspaper classifieds and sold it for $250 a few weeks later.

About 10 years ago, give or take, I had a guy try to sell me
a Remington 700 TI in 708 for $600. He was hurting for money
big time, but not as bad as I was, and I passed on it.

Best was a Dakota M10 in 7X57 with decent wood on Gunbroker for $2250. Owner forgot to put a reserve on it, but was gentleman enough to honor the price.

My first Model 21 Duck Grade when I was in High school. My mom's friend was having an estate sale and she wanted me to go with her as she was buying a heavy end table. We get there and I see some cork decoys which I also bought. Anyways the lady said my dad has two guns too. I asked to see them, one was a .22lr and the other the 12ga M21 Duck grade 30" F&F. I said how much for the shotgun? She said $50 I said I would give you that in a minute but that would be robbery on my part. I offered her $1000.00 all I had in the bank at that time. She said give me $500 and you can have the decoys too.

Regretfully I sold it when I was in A school in Millington TN.

I don't know to me the 303 was a better deal.

Numerous U.S. Gov issue 45 Colt automatics that I purchased in the 1960's for $25-$35. Worst loss was the same guns I sold during the same period for $35. to $50. Unfortunately had to pay the grocery bill. GW

The best deal I got, was $50 for a CZ24 Mauser my buddy had. I was with him when he bought the rifle before Hurricane Katrina hit, anyways after Katrina he shot it several times with corrosive ammo, never cleaned it and then put it away for 5 years. He tried to trade it in on a new shotgun for his son, but the gunshop owner would only give him $50 as the barrel was in bad shape. I todl him to hold on to it until we came to visit, as I wanted the action for a project. I looked the gun over and while the barrel is not in the best shape, the action is still in great shape. I gave him the $50 for the rifle, and then he says wait there's a catch you have to take the Mosin in the closet as well. He told me since it was his FIL and the man is in prison, the rifle is not allowed to stay in the house er his wife's instructions.

Bought my cousins Winchester 30-30 that was brand new for $7.00 because he broke the firing pin, replaced it with a Gun Parts pin.

Worst deal - I sold it for $100.00

So you paid $3,000 for it?

Traded a Browning 300win stainless with that tunable muzzle brake and a S&W 41 for a Anaconda with box and a Benelli M1 Super 90 with short barrel and rifle sights. Well I think it was a pretty good deal for me.

I didn't buy it personally for this price, but when working at a pawn shop a guy brought in a pristine Winchester 70 featherweight in 257 roberts with a Leupold Vari-X III. He only wanted to pawn it for $60. We kept telling him he could get more, but he wanted to keep it low so he would be able to get it out easier. Anyway, after 1 year and not hearing from him we finally decided to put it up for sale.
