Same here Sheriden!

I lucked into mine big time. I had been looking for one since they released them, but they always showed up when times were tight(as often happens). This one showed up in Cabela's Fine gun Library here in Phoenix complete with rings, box, all the paperwork etc.
I was lucky to have some stuff they wanted and walked out of Cabela's literally making a penny in profit on the deal grin

Blue that quarter was only for scale, but the way I shoot somedays I might need all 5 tries. grin

If Gunner shows up with his 8 bore, or his .577, I'll let the rest of you shoot them. crazy Once was enough.

Yep, I'd like to shoot that one. The caliber uses .41 mag sized bullets, and they are said to be easy to load down - or up. smile

I also know where there's a .450 Nitro #1, but I haven't worked up the nerve to buy it blush

Hah! grin The 8 bore I could probably get used to with some practice, in short sessions. The .577 made my teeth hurt with one shot.

Yeah it is nice right now I am loading the 300gr interlock FP Hornady makes for the .405 Win. Though its plugging along quite a bit faster at 2500fps in my 450/400

I plan on working up some loads with the hard cast gas checked bullets I run in .41 Magnum.

I sorta recall that Elmer described its kick as a "dirty, tooth-rattling jar."

My .458WM will be with me again.

I like the idea of a big bore match. Calibers that start with .4 or .5, iron sights only, offhand, one cold bore shot just like the PD Shoot.

Might have to stretch it to 100yds for a shoot-off. These big bores are accurate!

The question then becomes; cast bullets or jacketed? Smokeless or BP? So many choices to make. grin

Might bring that Marlin 1895 LTDIII again, too.

I can pull my scope easy enough. I am not sure if Dennis's Lott has irons or not. Heck we could to two shots... 50 & 100 yards. Measured distance from bull on both shots, and lowest total number wins.
Just a thought to add a twist.
