Too bad - might as well start 'yer weepin' when you cross the NM line.

Just had a long, loud storm here, with rain heavy enough to block my satellite signal for two innings of the Rockies-'Backs game (final 5>0 'Backs smile ).

Bodes well for our bash next month (unless somebody gets run-over by a fat elk).

I've been getting small amounts of rain here, not even enough to settle the dust, but lots of thunder and lightning. followed by dense smoke coming from the silver fire, I'm assuming.

I've been practicing a bit. I'm good enough to bring Gene to tears. Why, last time we went prairie dog hunting he started tearing up when I pulled up. He sobbed the whole time we hunted just from the beauty of the West Texas cow pasture. In fact, he cried so much the County Commissioners lifted the burn ban and the rancher had to disconnect the irrigation system so the fields wouldn't flood. He gave his dog a shower while petting her. I had to keep my boots on while I slept so they wouldn't float away during the night.

He really is a quiet, sensitive guy who is in touch with his inner feelings.

I came to this point when three of my friends told me, some time ago, that they weren't coming because three other friends of mine were planning to be among us. I'd hate to be such a stumbling block to anybody.
