Sounds like someone is desperate to keep the panic sales going..
I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Sounds like someone is desperate to keep the panic sales going.. yep. maybe it's true, maybe not, but I'm not banking anything on the hearsay statement "my Hornady rep said ..." I'll believe it when Hornady says it.

I'm with you boys... we all hope this is a hoax... I've already got an email into Hornady for clarification...
but I did take the time to call the shop that the fax number belongs to, after googling it up...
I am sure this will be cleared up by Monday... good or bad..

Yeah, I've got to wonder what they're selling a ton of in order to cause that.... I'm guessing a good amount of .22 and .30 cal stuff May have to give the ol' 168 VLD and 175 SMK a look. Now Tanner.....you wouldn't have your "tin foil" thinking cap on now would you?

It's been stated in another thread already but I called them today as did several other people and it is indeed true that they are suspending production on a whack of stuff. Feel free to call them yourself.

Adding to my post, if you are shooting something long throated, might wanna get hybrid Bergers. They tolorate a jump much better. In the guns I've ran the vlds in, the like to be jammed or real close to the lans which makes for ammo that won't fit the magazine.

I am sure this will be cleared up by Monday... good or bad.. Steve Hornady posted a vid on Youtube so I'd think that would be enough confirmation on the matter. Goodbye Hornady.

My guess is Hornady is concentrating on making bullets needed to sell more loaded ammunition.

Seems like good timing for Nosler LR Accubond release.
Hoping the 7mm 168gr will be a good replacement for the 162 Amax.

Natchez shooters supply has Hornady .224, 75gr Amax in 100 or 600 count boxes in stock, so stock up while you can!

You can't convince me that all of the listed 17 and 20 caliber bullets are in higher demand than the 75 Gr A-Max. http://m.hornady.com/support/availability/production-listThere's no 105 A-Max to be found in stock anywhere and no more will be produced. Just WTF? I've been a huge Hornady fan over the years, but they're losing favor very fast.

What are they going to do about it? Their demand is higher than their ability to supply, so they are prioritizing based on their historical and current demand. I am sure they would have ramped up to meet that demand if they could because more money now is better than later. Goodness sakes, you should come to Canada; I can't get anything I want any of the time cause your current wanker gov makes it too hard to export at the best of times. What's an Amax? I'm still waiting on the Minnie Balls my Grandaddy ordered in 1884.........
