PAMac and his Son just left, we shot the little M-70 22 Hornet, a suppressed 10/22 Ruger and the old 303 British double, a fine day indeed.

Well, I got it down to what is probably a 1/4 inch or a little less and it seems fairly consistent. Before it was not consistent at all. I have a new scope coming that should let me focus on the target a little easier than the cheap one that I am using now. With the Federal 22LR's I have settled on, this rifle should be competitive. I hope....

I guess that I would agree with Gunner500 that this was a god day! I think I'm going to shoot something tomorrow too if I can catch some time between the rain showers. I'd hate for someone to think I was just hoarding ammo and not planning on using it.

Spent the day at the Sig Academy with some damn fine instructors and peers. Ring of Fire (literally given the heat and sand on Bay 3), The Grinder and 20 Rounds to Freedom.........outstanding day.

I did pick up that stripped lower after work. On the way home, I felt led to stop in my favorite gun shop. They had one Stag complete upper left in stock. While I was looking at it, another customer inquired about it. At that point I had to whip out the CC. Threw in a Magpul stock and buffer tube assembly.

I now have an AR to build. grin

We're clearing brush at our range Thursday,......I'm tuning Chainsaws, getting fuel and bar oil organized, digging out chokers and chains.

A fine young family just left a while ago, loaded down with 5-6 gallons of Peaches they picked here,.......Over tea they looked over my humble and practical arsenal, and we had a fine and lively bull session on arms, ammo, histories thereof. I think they'll be out to the Buffalo league shoots in the near future.

Traded Apples, Peaches and Blackberries for Primers, yesterday.

Life is good.

A neighbor helped me work on some deer shooting houses that were showing their age. We put a new door on one today and will work on windows tomorrow. It was only 92 but was quite muggy. I did have several firearms with me but did not shoot any. I am going to work on some 257 Roberts loads in a little while.

Holding a committee meeting to reopen our range. We closed it due to LEOs rainbowing rounds off the range. Some hit houses and one lodged in a dude's arm. It's been a long road.

grin Went to the range and shot my new 1911 and a 3rd generation SAA 45 Colt. I have a lot to learn but didn't do too bad. I might have 200 -300 rounds thru pistols over the years. I'm liking it so far.

JOC was right. The 270 Winchester on a Model 70 is a great combination as is the 30/06 and 375 H&H

Nothing today but took yesterday off and spent a good part of the day casting pistol bullets and loading some 45 acp. Just got a Lee 6 cavity 452-200-SWC mold and after getting the bugs worked out, cranked out a big pile of bullets in short order. Cheapest mold I've ever bought and casts great after a little fiddling with it. I like it well enough that I just ordered the same mold in 452-230-TC. My wheel weight stash is going down fast...
