I thought $250 to $300 was tops. If you know of them at that price then let me know. If you don't then that's not the going price. It's like people that quote the Blue Book.

The guns I would not pay "Blue Book" on are "C's, 1895 comm's and 'DL's"...other than that, let me know about any pre '60 guns under $300.
Of course 70% condition plus

Are YOU willing to pay the $350 to $400 originally quoted at the beginning of this thread? I offered you a deal, so put up or shut up. No tire kickers, bubble gummers, or deadbeats.

Hey Robert I am willing to pay $27.50 for any pre-war 99 that you have! And what in the world is a bubble gummer?

$27.50? Wrong page. I'm wanting to see if Wild Bill's ready to put up or shut up. I'm thinking tire kicker.

Robert, Not sure why I am bothering to respond to your posts. First I asked about orginal Guns in the condition stated at beginng of thread. Said intested if under $300. You offered me neither. You didn't come under price point and I have no idea if your offered gun even has a rear sight of any kind, much less period.

Then you point to a pathetic auction gun(from collector standpoint) that is not very likely factory drill job and has sling studs installed in stock. If you wanted a shooter I suppose the starting bid would be close to reasonable.

Thanks anyway

P.S. Good price on mount/scope if in excelent condition.

I offered one in original condition $325 to your door. The gun's original and has its original rear sight. It's factory D&T'd and unless it were severely butchered from improper drill bits, I wouldn't let a small matter like swivel studs deter me at the price offered.

You're just a tire kicker. Lots of "advice" on pricing, but little actual market experience.

Put up or shut up, Billy.

Robert, I don't think I would care to do business with someone with your attitude. As to the EG they didn't start to drill until 1957. So it could be but not likely.

Thanks anyway

Look at the serial number and read Rick's posts on the subject, Billy.

Put up or shut up, Billy. Quit kicking the tires and giving advice you yourself aren't willing to take.

OK, tell you what, if you sent it to me free post paid, I would send it back, on my dime.

Since you already know everything, do me a favor, any post I make in the future is NOT directed at you or anything you may have posted.

P.S. I will try to avoid refering to anything you may have posted. I would be pleased if you return the favor.

robert,
i am a buyer. please give me a description of the rifle that you are willing to sell for $325.00. are you able to email me a picture of it, or post a picture of it somewhere? is it a 99 EG? solid frame or take down? please, forgive my ignorance on the subject. i don't know a lot about savages in general. i do have some experience from years ago to draw on, and i know that i really want a savage of my own.... thanks, john

robert,
the gun being auctioned in the gunbroker ad has approx 65% case coloring on the lever. does this have anything to do with the condition of the levers camming surface?... i have seen a couple of rifles in pawnshops over the years that appeared to have the camming surface on the lever worn down, and wondered if it affected the operation of the rifle.... john

Thanks guys for the feedback on my question. I guess the value can vary a bit depending on if a person is needing that model to add to a collection. I didnt understand Roberts suggestion that a realistic price for mine was $250-300 but he would sell his for $325. This is a great website with some excellent information here.
Thanks again. Mike
