A 270 that didnt like H4831? sell it, it'll be nothing but trouble Never. It likes H4831 a lot, just not so much with the 160 partitions for some reason.

now I mostly hunt concentrating on elk, but I have used a 270 win loaded with speer 150 grain bullets over a stiff load of h4831, on a few mule deer hunts, and I CERTAINLY FOUND THEY DID THE JOB WELL , in fact I can,t think of a single time anyone in our hunt camp shot a mule deer or an elk, and placed the shot well, with that 270 win ammo that I've loaded like that that for all the guys in our group, that didn,t result in a very fast kill. so I don,t think premium bullets are required. and some of those elk and deer were shot out at 300 plus yards which is a very long shot where we hunt. I do most of the reloading for our group and the 270 win has a strong following , so there's usually at least one guy in camp using one every year.

Mike I've been waiting to reload a box and give them a try but have been too busy to do so. My reloading bench is not together in one piece at the time which leaves me without any means to do the work. In the middle of building a house so most of my items are in storage. Thought maybe someone had some input on the bullet anyhow.
