1970-71 U of Florida
Left in middle of my sophomore year to join the Army as an 11B (light weapons Infantry), three years of which prepared me more for life than anything I learned in college. Went back anyway.
1975-78 Utah State University, BS in Forest Management.
Never worked a day in Forestry. No jobs available and what there were didn't pay squat. Used the last of my GI bill to attend a 6 month vocational school for computer programming, got a job as a programmer and have doing that for 33 years come this September.

Graduated from Penn State in '71 with a degree in biology and a minor in education.
Didn't really use the degree, but it allowed me to have a very good career in the steel industry.

University of Hard Knocks with a PhD in General Studies. Started out at a business school and dropped it to attend college to be an architect. The lady at the draft board had other ideas for me in 1968. Took a ton of college math classes when I was in the AF because I decided I wanted to be an EnGunEar. Never worked out so now just work for a bunch of them. Truthfully have never looked back. Do not owe anybody a dime. Retiring in June, wife will in July.

I did enjoy my time there and liked the field of study and really liked Logan. But they were graduating far more foresters than could be decently employed. A friend who also graduated with a BS in Forestry in 1978 couldn't find work that paid a livable wage and went to a vocational school to become an electrical contractor. Currently living in Boise which isn't a bad city as cities go, but I miss small town Fruitland on the ID-OR border where I lived for about 13 years. Me as a Mountain Man forestry student somewhere north of Logan, UT, that's US89 down at the bottom of that mountain in the background. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/Utah.jpg)
