I know the .270 is better but would it work in the woods or would a 30-06 with 220gr. be a better brush buster?

Have also used the .30-06 here plenty. They both work well but when I went west for the first time the .270 went along. It's got a lot more western persona to it, I think.

Maximum damage that way. My alternate answer to the OP is: Whichever cartridge I can get in a semi-auto with see-through scope mounts.

I've used both...ain't a deer in the world that could tell the difference...but my .270 looks better on targets and on my shoulder...
