wife asks me; why's the yard not mowed?

me; it's that freakin Northern Dave honey, between the road runner and camp Chickenbuck I can't get a damn thing done around here, I swear that boy would be lost without my advice. I have to watch him like a hawk.

when a woman rolls her eyes does that mean she's been placated?

cool project, gonna be a fun ride I betcha

That northern_dave's a bastid, fer sure!

I hate reading his posts -- and judging from the "hit counts" on his threads, so do most of the other 49,805 members on this site!

He's even got me thinking of getting a wiener dog... wink

I got the transmission (Tranny for the PooBah!) and transfer case out yesterday and got to cleaning. Got the top off the transmission, a little surface rust on some gears but nothing that will cause any problems.
Love the Mocha Latte that came out.

Valve covers off, and the valve train looks good.
The covers will get sanded and painted today...if everything goes right.

Ordered a new clutch yesterday, Centerforce II, should be here on Monday or Tuesday, along with the new body spacers.

My buddies dog Katie, the day we loaded the old girl up.

Are you thinking about maybe a quick redneck rinse of the engine oiling system?

Drain the oil, add a 40-60 mix of deezil/15W40, let her run unloaded for a bit?

The old timers used to do stuff like that when I was a young'un.

Problem is, everything has changed since I was younger. The oil is different, the diesel fuel is different too.

If I was going to do it, for the fuel portion of the recipe I'd use the off hwy fuel or look for "Bio diesel, or I'd use the regular crappy ass ULS pump diesel and add a bit of 2 stroke oil to make up for the low lubricity of the ULS fuel.

I plan on doing this with an old 223 ford 6 banger this summer.

Actually the "restoration" is the part that comes after the Jeep is done, if they ever are. Jeep/done-oxymoron

Got a little done yesterday. The transmission/transfer case is cleaned and painted (Rustoleum). The engine and frame cleaned and degreased waiting to be painted.

I did get the valve covers painted...think they came out well...It is a Jeep!

Travis,

I used Lokka , it is simple rugged and easy to install.

TLee,

Thanks, painted the fan up for Dad. Being that he is an old P5M pilot, I thought it would add a little 'cool'!
