Just wondering, since I'm relatively new here, why certain folk (one guy in particular) are allowed to wander from topic to topic spewing insulting language, thinly disguised profanity, and generally meaningless drivel. A few other forums I frequent would sideline them for periods of from weeks to months, or forever.

The idea that you are going to now grade insults and personal attacks and decide which ones are offensive and which ones are "reaching" is funnier still. So basically you were just talking out of your rearend when you made your assertion...? 'You' were the one who used the terms "foul language" and "personal insults" coming from "good tolerant people that want this forum to be a kinder, more polite place'". No 'grading', no 'deciding'...they were the terms 'you' used. Did antelope sniper, Brother Bart, gitem_12, TAK, or Bluedreaux (all 'your' examples) ever say they wanted this forum to be a "kinder, more polite place"...? Sayin' things based on what 'you' want them to be, are very different from the way things 'are'...at least in this instance. It's OK Antlers, nobody expected you to understand it. David

Dang...I don't think that you guys appreciated my last note enough (those of you that understood it). It was quite well done, and even humorous in spots - to me anyway.
And my vocabulary allows me to make my point without profanity.

To put this a bit plainer, I won't see him at the country club unless he's shining shoes, parking cars, or unloading the dumpster. Or...perhaps 'diving' the dumpster.

Rattler, in defense of canazes9 ( and myself), having zillions of posts on this forum just might be akin to tenure in the California public school system. Just because a fellow has been here for a long time doesn't mean that he is necessarily more competent than the noobie.
I admit that I found this forum when I was looking for one that was a bit different, and this one certainly is. Lots of good info here on many subjects. It's just a shame that a few people, supposedly knowledgable people, can't offer up assistance in a friendly manner. It is possible that the profanity and insults hide a lack of true and relevant knowledge, or maybe some knowledge is there but not the depth of it that they want others to believe. As for me, I tend to get the good info, as I need it, from people that I know to be experts. And I can get the info clearly and without needless profanity. There is a direct connection (inverse) between level of education and the level of profanity used in normal conversation.
