I quit fooling with 9mm because it is so cheap.
38 special is my cut off 22-250 for rifle
556 is too cheap to bother reloading as well, UNLESS its just for a special run of deer killing loads. Otherwise I would give my new dimension hornady dies away. Same here and the same for 38 Special.

I'm normally pretty good at this stuff but could someone break down the word "you'd" for me? "You'd" is a contraction of "you would." It is also the contraction for "you had." Take your pick

Hi The smallest cartridge, I reload, is 5mm rimfire, a local guy makes centerfire brass, for it and I shoot them in my contender. The guy is quite creative, he also builds firing pins to convert 5mm rimfire rifles into center fire. jim That's an interesting way around the rimfire shortage!! Someone does conversions of 5mm RF to CF, my son's FIL has one.

Well, I had a mexican mauser in the old days that was chambered in 17-220 Swift. Wish I still had it, but would have rechambered it.

If it goes bang...
Smallest I assemble is a 4mm RF but it is not a reload option. Otherwise I was saved from reloading the .297-250 Rook by virtue of someone wanting it more than I.

smallest I have reloaded is one hundred rounds of 25acp. swore I'd never load another round of that. now I don't have to. my wife traded the Beretta for a M39 S&W 9mm. don't like loading 9's either. stubby arthritic fingers just have a hard time with those dinky cases. smallest rifle cartridge is the hornet and the 222 rem.

For me:
9mm Luger, .223 Rem & 22 Savage Hi-Power.
I tried reloading for the .25ACP and .380 Auto many years ago, but I won't again. I just buy them by the 50 or 100 box and just don't shoot those marginal (IMHO) cartridges as much.
Not asked, but what I load the most are: .357mag, .45ACP, .223 Rem., 300 Savage & 358 Winchester.

For me it used to be .38/.357 in handgun, but with the Obama shortages I started loading 9mm. For rifle ammo the smallest is .22 Hornet and .22 K Hornet. The economy of a Hornet handload makes me smile.

17 Fireball in rifles. 9mm in handguns. Smallest powder charge was a couple of grains of Unique behind a round ball in the 8x57.

I've loaded everything from 17Bee to 470Nitro Express. I greatly dislike 17's as the hole is so small it's a chore to get the powder in quickly. I started reloading 17Bee in 1952 when the only 17 caliber bullets were Sisk.

Whatever I like to shoot that makes sense to reload. I used to be able (not that long ago) to buy 9mm for under 5 bucks a box so I didn't bother. No longer.... I do a little CBA on what I like to shoot and if it makes sense, I reload it regardless of size. Sure glad I got into a huge stash of .22 rimfire a while back.....

Smallest handgun cartridge I'd reload is the 9X19mm, followed by the 38 Special. Smaller cartridges are just too much bother with my arthritic fingers.
As for rifle cartridges, the 22 Hornet is my smallest.
