Won't get a lot in style points, but you will not be disappointed in the function. They flat out shoot....if they had a 243 or 7-08 or 260 I'd buy my third SL, but I've got a lightweight bug.

Thank you for your service!

Buy another 223 1-8, by this time next year they will be selling for $799. That is better than money in the bank.

223 Rem, my favorite cartridge - you can't argue with truckloads of dead PD's and gophers.

Oh my bad...luv my 223 and 270. Lotta 300's show up on the used market, I suspect due to the recoil factor. Out west, a 7mag might be a good choice.

None of the cartridges horn me up.

If I HAD to do it, I'd go 270WSM - pull the tube and build a 6.5 SAUM ala GAP.

I have an 270 Bee in Ultra lightweight that shoots lights out!

so the 270 WSM would never get use!

Pretty sure the SL is only available in 270, not 270 wsm.

I would have no problem saying no. Six hundred forty nine dollars still buys quite few bags of quality groceries. Since you do not need another rifle by buying one you're basically throwing your money away.

For under $300 each, a little bedding epoxy and trigger tweaks I have 4 used rifles that shoot like that. M98, Rem725, and two Ruger 77s. They are likely better than my 500 yard limit. True, they are all beat up and/or ugly! smile

Fotis........why do I get the impression you are a rifle loonies. laugh

I picked up a 223 1/8 twist super lite and I'm liking shooting this thing. They also seem very sought after so I know its a rifle I'll be able to make money on in the future if I so ever choose which I doubt I will.

I remember reading somewhere that the 22 250 was a 1 in 14 twist if that matters.
