Who do you think designed GAP camo.(hint)

He stocks his own color scheme, believe it or not.('nother hint)

His stock prices are hard to beat,as well.(bigger hint)

He builds completed rifles veddy veddy fast and veddy veddy well.

Anymore hints required?......................(grin)

'Course it is.

A $200 at most B&C handle,mated to a $750 Factory barreled action.

That was generous on the handle and I believe 750 clams to be pretty steep, for a Factory barreled action.

Slice it and dice it,any way you wish......................

I assume Georgia Precision designed the camo. I was not aware that he stocked them. Even so, my shank diameter and length is not standard on my barrel. I know GP builds a great gun, but I wanted my local smith to do it who also builds good guns and it popular in benchrest circles.

FC,good, tell us about your adventures with the greatest long range deer caliber.

Big Stick, your numbers don't work for me,and I carve my own stocks. But I rather have a rifle built for me,even if I have to wait.

I also could have ordered the stock when I dropped off the parts at my smith, but I wanted an accurate fit so I waited for the barreled action to be done then sent it to McMillan. Hoping to have it back in September.

If this McMillan is as good as people say, then i might get some more for my other guns. I want a new stock for my 338.

If there was something better,I'd have it.

Stocks are easy,McMillan or bust.

Getcha a piece of the 200 clam USMC trade-in M40A1 handles, with steel bottom metal. Mine had Wichita swivels and matching numbers,as well as being in suprisingly good condition.

That'll defray expense on the next build,by a goodly margin.(hint,hint)..........................

What action do you have to have to fit them? 700 short?

FC, I truly hope you enjoy your new rifle. Great cartridge. I use .264s to kill deer on damage control permits and after shooting everything imaginable I prefer the .264 over anything else. This is talking from hundreds of deer kills. Get some good glass on it and make some noise. reflex264

Short action 700,of course. All M40A1's were shorts.

The Army's M24 on the HS is a 308,built on a long action, for in case someone wishes to convert them to 300Winny. An abortion,in my book.

I poked a 308 LTR in mine.

For conversation,I bought the above rifled used and have less than $700 into the barreled action, stock, bottom metal and Badger 20MOA rail. That includes the Badger bolt knob and the infamous Celt boltmod(which in fairness,is a good thunk and very well done on this example).

Got the Badger standards for $100 and bought the 3.5-10x M3 from Midway for $599.

It digests milsurp ball sourced from J&G Sales for $99 per 1000 rds and it tracks nicely a lil ways past 500yds on the 168SMK BDC cam, from the zero stop.

One of these days I'll load some 155 Scenar's for it,to see what it'll really do.

It typically pays to keep the nose in the wind,as deals routinely abound.

Or you can have the "satisfaction" of paying more...................

Thats one combo I haven't tried. The X-Bullets (TSX) ar really coming on strong and I know several guys that are using them. How fast are you getting the 100grs out of the .257 Roy? reflex264

I shoot 73grs in R/P hulls,for 3750-ish fps.

My 24" 25-06AI likes 'em at 3600-ish................

Reflex:

Keep in mind that Barnes is in the process of "recalculating" their inflated BC values. On their website, the BC of the 100X has been reduced from .42 to a more realistic .375. Apparently haven't re-evaluated the 100gr TSX, as it is still listed at .42.

It is what it is.

I am aware of the BC changes which were overdue. The bullets are impressive on game. I hope this doesn't look like a thread hi-jack but I have some 300gr and 350gr TSX's to test in my .416 . They look mean even if they aren't mean but I suspect they will work great. reflex264
