Ok, OK ...............

Enough of all this peace and love stuff already.

Pretty soon we'll all be singing Kumbaya or something!

Let's get back to the good ol' "kick ass" discourse that makes
this forum so interesting-----------

Personally, I don't feel like I have to apologize to anyone for anything I've said here and I don't expect to receive any.

To me, words are like bullets once they are spoken all the apologies in the world can't take them back.

If you take a position on this forum, be prepared to defend it with all you got, cause if you can't, you'll be eaten alive (figuratively of course) and justifiably so.

The motto at a major corporation where I use to work was "If you see a pair of balls, kick em'," and that's the way it should be here.

I'm not saying everything discussed here should end up in a pissin' contest, but when one gets started, people shouldn't feel like they have to couch their remarks for fear someone's feelings might get hurt.

As the lawyers like to say, this would have a "chilling effect" on the discussion and everyone ends up the lesser for it.

Just my humble opinion------

Go easy on me will yah?

I think "opus" means "effort" or "attempt" and is related to music. Or was a Penguin on "Bloom County."

OK, OK...I'm not trying to eliminate handles. Gene L is a handle. My opus is to oblogoate the annonymous ponces here who hide behind them.

Penny mentioned (or someone) mentioned that as a police officer I should know what harm having your real name in your bio can cause. Well, as a DEPUTY, not a police officer, I do it. That should give you a clue as to how little harm it has caused me.

So, continue your opuses (opi?) and keep urinating up and down the aisle with your gold-rimmed testicles on your nose to remenustrate.

Barak is probably the only person on the board who understands English at this high level, so if you have any questions about etymology, just ask him.

Translation: Im used to having my way, and I'll keep calling you all pu$$ies until the 24hr Campfire is just the way I think it ought to be, and screw all you people who are also members here! By God, Im 62 and never lost at anything, and I will stand here screaming "come out and fight" until I die or you do.

Gee Gene -I understand fairly well what you are trying to do here and I am not Barak. It still is pure BS.

YOU want to come across as some better than thou Deputy who is scared by somone posting without their real name. Seems to me the person who is the wuss is the one who can't simply back up their argument with either fact or reason - shouldnt matter if you argue with a guy named "Bob" or a guy named "7mmbuckskinningbulletshooter". The argument stands on its own merits. The name means NOTHING - unless you want to screw with them somehow (credit, internet games ect.) Kinda makes me wonder bout your motives.

Someone once said "Instead of raising your voice - renforce your argument". When someone raises the voice - tells me they either can't make their point or are a moron and time is wasted on them.

Nah, Teal. We got:

OK, OK...I'm not trying to eliminate handles.

Then we get:

Translation: Gee I'm surprised 99% of posts are opposite mine. I need to convince all how intelligent and educated I am by changing direction of this thread.

Anything else on which you need to pontificate, Gene?

Horseshit.

And Teal, you, too. You probably don't realize most of those words were made up or used improperly, as B used "opus." And tried to cover it up.

I'm trying to leave this thread, but folks keep calling me out.

Yea, and my name really is Ron Mexico.

Altho..... I do usually go by Abe Froman when making dinner reservations or asked my name for a waiting list at the diner. Maybe 3 of the hostesses got the reference outta thousands over the past 15 years that I have used it.

2x points to those who can tell me where it comes from along with Ron Mexico.

I got the Abe reference, but only because I saw the movie on TV recently!

You guys are quick!

Not many get it for some reason, I guess people don't appreciate the classics anymore. I had one girl start to laugh till she cried when I told her I was Abe. We played along, ect but I suspect the others waiting were wondering whats up.

One place she (always a woman for some reason) was very sympathetic that I got stuck with a name used in a movie like that - never occured to her that it wasn't my name and I was playing the joke.

Is this another one of those episodes where Andy Taylor has to calm Barney down again?

Wow - Gene - I didn't realize you knew EACH and EVERY use of EVERY word in the english language. Slang and all. Bet you KNEW all along that SUCKS = Rem 700 and BLOWS = Win M70, before you came here even.

You call horsehitt - fine, but there isn't anything I would NOT say to your face. I see a lonely man who feels the need to pontificate - prob is you ain't got no church and can't seem to cultivate one either.

Still tell me how I am wrong that when posting an opinion and an opposing opinion comes up, knowing the other guy's real name makes any difference?
Either you can back up your opinion or not - it STILL DOES NOT MATTER WHAT THE OTHER POSTER GOES BY, NAME OR NOT!

Made up word or not - used improperly or not - I knew what you were trying to say - IOW I smelled what you were stepping in, and I still say you haven't a friken clue.

Seems to me that you have been here a short time, want respect but haven't earned it. Steelhead's sig line fits you like a glove.

Sure your boss doesn't care what you post but considering the 20 posts a day here plus the 20 post a day on the other place someone found you - seems to me your boss don't have much use for you other wise you would be busy with that.

Yep we are just forcing you to post. Kinda like McDonalds forced the 450lb man to eat double quarter pounders 6x a day.

You start a thread - it gets hot for you and now you want to forget - is understandable but don't be suprised when membership stand up for itself.

I thought, briefly, about playing with your head and telling you that I think you're wonderful, wise, witty and charming but decided against it
Don't worry... I do it enough for several people! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Be careful with people you find extremely intriguing. I wound up marrying mine! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I try to follow the example that Mr. Coleman has set. He rarely if ever shows any animosity towards anyone. I have a ways to go but I keep trying.

I deeply appreciate your comment here. Lest I'm elevated to a level not earned let me assure you that I, too, have clay feet, and am amazed and ashamed of myself how quickly I can go from calm to rage when I least expect it. It's a constant reminder of my old sin nature and it's a constant battle. Thank you again for the encouragement.

...so I guess it's pointless for me to ask for Barak's hand????? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />

(Y'all are good people and I appreciate you. Contrary to a previous post I would not classify Barak as a liberal. If I'm wrong please don't tell me.)

Not putting my dog in this fight but I checked the dictionary and couldn't find:
oblogoate
annonymous
or remenstruate.

Maybe you and Barak really are on a higher plane with the language. At least, it seems you're above me.
