Gene may be a great guy but he sure has some weird ways of showing it, comming on like a troll and all. I found a small piece that was written by a Gene Langston in the Athens Banner Hearld. Not bad. So is this the real Gene L or an imposter it is hard to tell from where I am sitting...but I think we have the real deal on our hands and he is an A-Hole of the first degree but a nice guy just the same. Ought to fit rite in once he learns that he is not going to change the way things opperate around here.

I was offended by Genes original post and sent him my personal info just to show I wasn't hiding chit.
I'd had no exchanges with him prior to that, but being lumped into a group and being called a coward hit the anger button. I think I dinged him pretty hard and then left for a couple of days.
When I got home I found a polite PM from him. He could have carried on the fight in the PM but declined to do so.
I think I'll let him live in peace.

Assuming I'm of the same mind as most around here, makes no diff to me whether he stays or goes.

What does make a diff is if he thinks he's gonna waltz in here and give membership lessons on posting etiquette, what being a "real man" is or talk down to other posters.

He ain't the lead dog, and if he's gonna pizz on the campfire, he better learn to lift his leg a little higher, the flames still burn brightly.


BTW Gene, thanks for your service to our country, I don't hold it against you that you are a redneck, opinionated azzhole, turns out most of my bestest friends are, something about birds of a feather flocking and all.

We're having some cool nights here and the fishing has really picked up. I've been out at dusk the last two nights and had several nice bows come up to a hopper pattern splashed near the bank.

Hey Bullwinkl--Be careful about that exchange of an elk hunt for some southern hunting experiences. You just might get flooded with offers and reples! I'd probably pay your way for a hog hunt for a chance at one of your Roosevelts. You have an open invite to come to the Va hills for squirrel. Whitetail is in at that time as well.

All I know is that if our Sheriff, John Davenport caught our under Sheriff/Chief Deputy, William F. Cameron spending this much time on the net he would get his walking papers Ricky-tic!

I wasn't. At first I was amused. Then when I offered to introduce myself in person over a cup of coffee, and got no reply either negative or affirmative...I became suspicious of his motives. But I know I tend to over think things, and I figure everyone is working an angle...and I bet those that just pegged him as a chicken-$hit a$$hole have hit the mark closer than I would have.

I bet as long as you agree with him on everything, he's probably a decent guy to hang around...and I bet in person, he confines his company only to hardcore headknockin' cops like himself.

I about quit hunting because I'm too lazy to get up early. I'd rather sleep in than kill an elk....I mean, hell, they're bigger than a cow. Who could miss one?

If you want to shoot some hogs, anytime, though, I'll take you to where they are. No limit, no season.

And 1akhunter, I don't dance. Especially I don't waltz.

No matter what you say or do, you're just not going to get him to come out and get involved in this stuff with you. He's just not interested.

And let me assure you that he is 100% man. I know him "close up and personal."

Gene, I didn't use google to find you , you are a well know man <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> looks to me that the crowd is trying to make nice with you, thats a good thing we need more oppinions around here. Just got back in from pulling some crab pots, funny thing the pots were empty and the bait was pretty well chewed up. could be the 2 legged critters were out last evening pullig all the pots, there are 40-50 out in the bay, lots of boat traffic. makes one wonder. Any way you survived the onslaught and hopefully will fit rite in. the unwritten rules are a moving target at best. Not all apply to every one and some are applied selectivly by most. No harm ment no appolgie forth comming or required to be sent. Have a great day and go shoot something fun.
