I like listening to Joel Osteen when behind the wheel. He gives uplifting talks. I have Sirius XM and Joel Osteen is the only channel I listen to as I have MP3 songs on memory sticks when I want to listen to music. I'm sick of dealing with Sirius and will not buy from them anymore.
I tried researching where I can copy MP3 Joel Osteen talks. Can't seem to find anything that is free. I would like to copy them to a memory stick. The guy is worth $100,000,000. You'd think one would be able to do this for free.

You need to watch the American Gospel documentary series.
Joel O. is a sham as are all other prosperity doctrine "preachers ". Health and wealth with no actual gospel which appeals to those who.would have their ears tickled.
Blinkin Osteen. Got that sympathy gig going. Watched an interview one time just to say I did. Him and the wife, Crazy Eyes. Woman acted like she was coked up and the blizzard was still blowin. He was bored with somebody asking him questions. Above it all. Rotten to the core.
So without knowing where Adam is in his walk with Christ we're all going to laugh at him?
Once upon a time I was unchurched and sitting at home occasionally catching a something on TV from some preacher. No I never joined and never sent any money, but they did create a spiritual awakening in me. My journey with the Lord has taken many turns over my life, but I'm glad that there was a TV evangelist who created a spark within me to know the Lord.
God bless you Adam. My your spiritual journey bless you, those closest to you and all who seek the Lord.

The biggest human threats to Christianity are from within.
I agree that the church continues to hemorrhage members, and to not attract new members. They've likely lost focus on what kind of message it takes to connect with unchurched people nowadays, and to stay connected with dechurched people nowadays.
Church leaders are losing the conversation; they’re often not even in the conversation anymore.
When the current conversation is making less of a difference every day, maybe they oughta change the conversation.

Maybe families need to pick a genuine small town church with a devoted group of leaders from deacons, elders, and minister.
These type churches are made up of families as well as the leaders. They offer support, understanding, and wisdom. A close, bound congregation such as this offers everything the big, commercial, name brand, generic enterprises cannot possibly offer.
Families need to go to church and participate as families and as part of a congregation.
My wife watches Greg Locke on YouTube I have several times with her, I like the guy reminds me of Trump not afraid to call a spade a spade and refused to put up with any of the covtard B.S.
The church we attend in liberal Columbia MO, is not a "mega=church" and is a church that preaches the truth of the gospel. No ear tickling here. We actually hear the word "sin" regularly in the message. My wife and I are thrilled and encouraged by the number of young people who regularly attend. Both students from the local colleges (Mizzou and two smaller colleges), and many young couples and younger singles in the community. We have 3 services every Sunday with an average of around 1400/1500 per week total which usually fills the pews about 80%

Heck no!!! Who would wanna do that??
Sundays are for Lee Marvin, ice cream, drinking beer, mouthing off to someone over the way they make chili, salmon fishing, riding RZRs on the mountains, taking the boat out, being hungover from boot scootin night before.
Ya know….all that stuff that “Out West” people do
Church is for people are willing to step foot into a walmart and buy stuff from Amazon
Have I mocked enough Sunday campfire ne'er-do-wells yet?
Joel’s stated belief is that all good people go to heaven and that trusting in Jesus Christ for your salvation is not necessary for salvation. Joel is a heretic and to be avoided.
These TV and radio preachers are fantastic speakers. For sheer motivation they are fun to listen to. But for Bible doctrine one must, say what, read the Bible!

If you and your family and friends have found something like the above that works for y’all, then more power to ya’. It does sound nice. But more families than not are busted apart nowadays for a variety of reasons, and there’s a lotta single people out there. Our culture is changing, like it or not.
Rehashin’ apologetic approach’s from past generations isn’t gonna change the indifference regarding Christianity nowadays imo. To reach people that no one else is reachin’, you gotta do things that no one else is doin’.
Paul varied his approach depending upon his audience. He approached the Greeks in Athens differently than he approached the Jews that he took the Gospel to.
I just don’t think the current overall approach is working, based upon the fact that a majority of churches have plateaued or are dyin’. Some churches are growing, but all of that growth isn’t coming from people with no church background. Some of that growth is comin’ from Christian’s looking for a different place to congregate.
I think the number of churches that are really attracting new followers nowadays…especially in light of the clear decline of Christianity…is probably quite low.
In my opinion, nowadays the church has its work cut out for it tryin’ to figure out what it takes to reach people regarding Jesus and His message…both unchurched and dechurched people alike
Don't know nothing about this Olsteen fellow, but that Creslo guy, he the real deal!
You need to take a listen to Jimmy Swaggart and his lovely wife Frances. They have a share-a-thon once a month but I can't figure out what they do with the money.

Couldn't agree more. Non demnominational/fundamentalist myself. Little 140 year old church on a hill, family in the ground out back. This is where you find sermons from The Book. And toes might get stepped on. Trouble is, it's not where you find people on Sunday, new members are rare.
Because, of those toes.
Numerous churches around with 2-300 showing up on Sunday. Some, having several services, traditional, casual, and other things I don't care to remember. Look good, feel good, never be convicted. This is where folks wanna go. Osteen style.
For all you haters on here....Nobody dislikes a charlatan more than a true believer. The bible even warns of them...
And I find it amazing that so many here spend time talking about it. Not that I care how much he is worth. I'm a born again christian. You can laugh all ya want. However, scripture says it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. I wouldn't want to be him no mater how much money he has. When a christian gets a fraction of that, his own beliefs says to use it for the kingdom. .If he doesnt he will be judged and judged more harshly . He aint taking it with him neither.

Ours is too small for much of that, but they do monthly meals after Sunday Service. Potluck style, often with some theme for the food. Not advertised, but anyone there is darn near forced to come eat.
It provides a chance for the people to spend time together, in an social setting. It nice. (We avoid it, I hate things like that)
VBS I'd coming up, they do something I find cool but apparently is unique. An adult class, taught by the preacher. It's often the biggest class.
"your church is a Six Flags over Jesus." That's the sermon that put Paul Washer on the map. I've listened to him for years. There are so few really good, sound preachers these days. He's one of them.
Paul Washer the later R C Sproul John McArthur Phil Johnson (probably who I listen to most) recordings of the late Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones Steve Lawson Voddie Bacham
among a few others are good, scripturally sound preachers.

Agreed. Add the rainbow flags in front of mainline denominations, and declarations that active homosexualism is holy. Whatever it takes to get folks in the door. But you won't generally find these chuuches preaching the word. The word drive most people away. But that's the way its supposed to be. The word is fire, and fire purges and purifies.

Yep the American church has been heavily influenced by the methodologies of business and marketing bearing more resemblance to the Wharton school than what we see in the book of Acts.

Jeff Pollard/80’s rock star as well as Sinclair Ferguson & Scott Brown.
God has used Paul Washer to expose the ignorance of American Christianity and has opened the eyes of many by his preaching.
American Christianity in my opinion has suffered because of the way the churches have tried to change and coddle the younger generation to come to church, With their coffee shop environment contemporary music, smoke dark lights, plays and skits, soft preaching etc. instead of preaching the whole counsel of God.
I listened to Paul washer some years ago. I like Conrad Mbewe. I think I could sit under him as a pastor because he’s not from America and has experienced and fought much harder against heresy in his country.
I had to start separating myself from the reformed Baptist denomination several years ago when I realized that they, in contradiction to their claims, strongly practice a theology of glory. They won’t admit it but that was my experience and observation. I’ve listened to many reformed Baptist pastors that I sat under that teaching in church.
The nail in the coffin for me was the 2018 T4TG conference. As I sat and listen to the many different people Speaking, David Platt John MacArthur etc., I realize there was a hole in a smooth with a foot in the SVC. Now for years later it’s quite evident that that holy is Ashley SJW theology.
Abortion activists interrupted Osteen's service on Sunday. They stripped down, and cried out "My body, my fuc*king choice!" Security had to remove the gals from the service.

Justin Peters is another good one. He's done a great job of exposing the charlatans you see on TV. He's sort of a one-trick-pony in ministry, since that's pretty much what he's known for. But he does have mild cerebral palsy and has severe mobility issue. I thought his going to Todd Bentley's "faith healing" service, and his failure to get healed in front of Bentley's audience was great.

The division within Christianity likely makes it unappealing to a great many people. Men here disagree with their wives, but they don’t separate from em’, they don’t divorce em’. Disagreements are unavoidable, but division is a choice.
Does it make sense to distance ourselves from other believers that we disagree with…? Jesus said if you greet only your own people, then what are you doin’ more than others…? Do not even unbelievers do that…?
If Jesus had decided to ‘only’ be with His own, He woulda never stepped foot on this planet…!

Jesus wanted our contacts with heretics and unbelievers not for acceptance of false teachings, but for correction and evangelization.
Matthew 18:15-17 “If your brother sins against you, go and confront him while the two of you are alone. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. But if he doesn’t listen, take one or two others with you so that ‘every word may be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If, however, he ignores them, tell it to the congregation. If he also ignores the congregation, regard him as an unbeliever and a tax collector."

Can you put that another way, I’m not comprehending you last sentence?
Sorry about that. Talk to text….SIRI doesn’t always get my accent.
As I listened to the various speakers I was disgusted. Everyone had a message of reconciliation, apologizing for slavery and racism. Every speaker participated. Even the famed John MacArthur. At the end of his message he mentioned Christ for a very few minutes.
My observation to a former pastor of ours in an SBC church was that I expected there to be a holiness or piety movement within the denomination. I wasn’t far off. That was the beginning of many of the leaders starting to adopt a Christian SJW message.
It’s pretty easy to document the direction that the denomination has gone since then. The church that we had been in had left the SBC and joined an independent Reformed Baptist organization. It seems that a lot of congregations are doing the same.
It’s hard to imagine John MacArther being apologetic about anything but the Gospel. I agree about the SBC it will take 10-15 years to straighten it out if they start right now. Tom Ascol is going to run to be President of SBC. If anyone can turn it around it will be him.
I don’t think that it will ever recover. When Mohler took SBTS hard Calvinist in an attempt to get back to the roots of the denomination many were turned off and the liberal divide became deeper.
Add to that the woke people that matriculated into and now from SBTS, the wokeness within many of the churches and the focus of too many of their churches on numbers and the writing is on the wall.
Most traditional denominations were gutted of sound theology through the fundamentalist movement. The guys coming back from WWII needed to salve their souls for what they had seen so moralism swept through and then their grand and great grand kids were taught Christianity as moralistic therapeutic deism. I’d say stick a fork in the SBC and most other traditional denominations. I just can’t see a path for them to come back.
There were disagreements among His Apostle’s themselves.
They didn’t separate and distance themselves from each other because of it.
They worked it out and came to agreement.
Or maybe they just agreed to disagree. Makes sense to me that in addition to Essential Beliefs we have liberty in Non-Essential Beliefs. It’s certainly possible to strongly affirm the clear teaching in scripture while allowing believers the personal freedom to have varying interpretations on theological issues that are not clearly presented in scripture.

These are all very good bible teachers, among those we listen to the most. Costi Hinn (nephew of Benny) is another worthy listen and has a very good testimony of what God took him out of.
These men actually TEACH the bible, not just tell inspirational stories based on the "Thought of the Day" offered with a side order of signs and wonders by most charismatic preachers.
Haven't listened to Costi Hinn's preaching except that I've heard him interviewed many times after he came out against his uncle, Benny Hinn's, teachings. Costi is pretty impressive. He used to be part of the Benny troupe and traveled with him around the world to the faith healing meetings.
A few years ago, a most excellent documentary was produced that explained the word-faith and prosperity gospel. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend finding it and watching it.
Name-it-and-claim-it. Phfffft. The truth of the gospel can be found in this sermon by Dr. Martyn Lloyd Jones. In my opinion, the best sermon ever recorded. Jones explains perfectly what the gospel means. Best hour ever spent if one is interested in at least trying to understand the Christian faith, and a great reminder and inspiration for those that are already in the faith. And very convicting of those Christians, like myself, who fail daily.
"'Follow me!,' He says. But where is he going? I'll tell you where he's going. He will lead you to persecution."
Indeed He will. I've always wanted to ask Joel Osteen if these Christians just failed to "name and claim [their] best day." Wonder how many Joel-fans, or how many self-identifying Christians, would remain loyal on this beach.
"Be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life" (Revelation 2:10)
I heard a very interesting interpretation the other day of the parable of the mustard seed. Its in all the "synoptic" gospels. Here it is from Matthew....
1 He told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. 32 Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
I always took that to mean that the message that Jesus started (the mustard seed) which became the "church" would start off small and grow larger. Which it obviously has. Never paid much attention to the last part about the birds.
What I read said that the birds represent devils. The guy came to this conclusion based on the parable of the sower where the birds which came along and ate up the seeds....representing Satan/devils stealing the word from people who heard it but could not understand it. He used it as a template saying birds represented devils, yeast represented sin, etc.
Anyway, according to this guy's take, the bottom line is that the mustard seed parable means that the church would eventually grow large and be infested with devils. It startled me at first but I find it damn hard to argue with.

That's about the difference between Latin rite and Antiochian rite.

Osteen makes my skin crawl as it always does when I am confronted with evil. You cannot simultaneously worship God and Mammon. The centerpiece of Osteen's ministry is mammon and the other rewards of this world. God and rewards in Heaven are secondary. Remember what the Ten Commandments says about other gods.
Great stuff 10Glocks. I intend to watch that sermon, so thanks in advance for posting. There are many problems with the prosperity gospel as some have mentioned. One big problem is that it takes grace out of the equation, which is false teaching.

That is nice to hear . We do some simialr things. We have free burger and hot dogs every Friday night and the Highschool kids come over from across the street during half time. Ou small church gives money in the form of Walmart . We even have a christmas tree in December with gift cards. You can take one if you are hurting. And how could I ever forget, we have Soup Sunday !! Those old ladies sure can bake a cake and make soup and deserts.
