Steve, is your bag full of the Spaghetti??????? Jesse
Good Friend Jesse,
Absolutely. Spaghetti
carbonara Steve
PS.
Spaghetti Carbonaraingredients5 oz pancetta, side pork or thick bacon
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup dry white wine
1 lb spaghetti
3 large eggs
1 1/2 oz Parmigiano-Reggiano, finely grated (3/4 cup)
3/4 oz Pecorino Romano, finely grated (1/3 cup)
1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
preparationCut pancetta into 1/3-inch dice, then cook in a deep 12-inch heavy skillet over moderate heat, stirring, until fat begins to render, 1 to 2 minutes. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is golden, about 10 minutes. Add wine and boil until reduced by half, 1 to 2 minutes.
Cook spaghetti in a 6- to 8-quart pot of boiling salted water until al dente.
While pasta is cooking, whisk together eggs, Parmigiano-Reggiano , Pecorino Romano (1/3 cup), 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt in a small bowl.
Drain spaghetti in a colander and add to onion mixture, then toss with tongs over moderate heat until coated. Remove from heat and add egg mixture, tossing to combine. Serve immediately.
Sorry this is the only one I could find. I had to take it off my bulletin board and scan it. I'm the big blond on the bottom left, that skinny dude on the right is my step-son.

isaac, I've been to a few benefit auctions for the lake. Sorry to say that the fishing has really gone down hill in the past 10-20 years. Needless to say that the lake is more or less managed as a reservoir. Not good for the prey/mini game fish(Kokanee Salmon) spawning beds....
No, just some junk in the woods.
Les...If Loggah goes to Raton, I think I'll find myself agreeing with him quite frquently!
He isn't too big.

No, seriously, it was just some saftware that came with my computer. Nothing fancy. I just dressed up in that get up, had someone take the picture, then cut and paste myself into the WWII shot. Of course I had to adjust the focus and color to match.
Go down to the Post Office and look on the wall. I'm there some where.

Not you buddy. Last time I posted, if you remember, somebody said you better remove it before Steelhead saw it. I thought...For a second only... you were playing off that!
I'm an innocent compared to the likes of Steelhead......grin
The pic of you and your family smiling after dinner is great...
I find it much easier to do it manually ... If you know the link (address) to each pic you want to post, then just type it in manually like this ...
http://first.image.address.goes.here [/img]
http://second.image.address.goes.here [/img]
Just don't leave a space between the 'braced' image or /image and the URL ...
Make it EXACTLY like UtahLefty called it and not;
[IMG]blahblahblah[IMG][IMG]
blahblahblah2[IMG][IMG]...
Put the final [IMG] for a picture on a line above the [IMG] for the second and subsequent pictures or the pics will run out in a line and cause everybody to run back and forth across their screens...

Very nice Va deer SM!! Grayson County???
CLOSE! Actually Carroll County, right next door. Kinda funny story but I shot this buck 127 yards from the corner of the house on the last day of blackpowder season with the wife and daughter sitting in the car ready to leave for a trip. Needless to say the trip got delayed! 146 6/8 B&C.
It would have delayed mine as well. That's a monster!!
Congrats!
Two more local bucks. Don't tell anybody but you don't have to go to Texas to find a biggun! Both of these were killed by members of our QDMA branch VERY close to where mine was shot.
Can't show my mug without showing the greatest little huntin' buddy!
Me and the wifey....Isla Mujeres, MX

And a hunting pic for good measure. Me with a monster S. Texas buck.

Finally got a new one taken; yesterday on the back deck... I like this thread. Nice to see faces to identify with posts..
Best to you all..
Gotta love that backyard Redneck. Always wondered what you looked like. Thanks for posting. Still need about a thousand more though!
isaac, it's looking a lot greener in the pix than in reality.. If we don't get some SERIOUS rain NOW, many farmers are going to lose a pile of crops.. Only about 4" total moisture since April 1st..
Yeah, I do like to see these pix of people we 'talk' to..
Redneck,
You have a bit of a G. Gordon Liddy imaging in ya. That's a compliment, you know. Miller adds to it all as well
Okay...so who's left? Yet to hear from the O'Reilly/Baraks. Come on now, don't be bashfull...

Barak used to have a fake picture of himself as a big, red headed, bearded lumberjack type.

That must have been before my time here at the 'Fire. But, um, no... that's
definitely not him!
He is big, though (6'3"), and has a beard.

maybe if we get enough clues, we can have a sketch artist make a composite

Maybe it was his real picture, then, because that's about what it looked like, but when asked, he'd always say it wasn't really a picture of himself.
Maybe if we bombard the Baraks with PM's
they will surrender their photo's..................
Mark

I seriously doubt he would ever post a real picture of himself. He doesn't even like to have his picture taken. And he's not now, or has he ever been, a redhead.
Penny
ah, another clue!
Seems like I've been away on vacation for a long while.
Here's one from a week or so ago pre vacation and no chin whiskers
Post vacation and chin whiskers.....
I get a thumbs up from the Mrs on the facial hair. I guess anything to cover up that mug.

I know why Barak doesn't want to post his picture. He's hinted at the reason for years. It makes it harder for him to be identified should the chit hit the fan. He's no dummy. Hard to quietly slip into your alternate identity if your picture's posted on the internet.
My wife and I at a Kenny Chesney concert a week ago.
2crow...I've been waiting to see the face of the guy whose sent me some hilarious PM's!!
Ace Financial!..$10 Ceeegar! 2crow...You're the guy taking my bets ain't ya'?? grin
This is the wife and I over in Germany a few weeks ago. We were on a lake cruise on the Starnberger See, a big lake near Munich.
You're in one of the most beautiful countries in the world with the finest beers ever made and you're drinkin' sodie pop! You ain't a real German!! Great pic of both you and your wife Sam!

isaac; I haven't had to play Mr Knuckles for a while to "collect" on any bets, a few construction loans that have gone slightly south perhaps, but no wagers.
Thanks Isaac. I think she is too. Actually met her while stationed in D.C. We use to shop at the mall in Fairfax some 20 years ago. By the way you've got a beautiful family!
Cliff
Since you may have had great memories 20 years ago Cliff (since you met your wife here), don't ruin them by coming back. It just ain't the same anymore, man! Traffic virtually 24/7 now!
I'm the one on the left.
Jim
Wow! I remember how bad traffic was back then. I can't imagine getting worse. Defensive driving is a skill you need just to survive! Experienced a couple of road rage incidents that were pretty scary.
TBatman...I remember that pic. A classic! You look tough for such a kind man!

As promised, pictures from the river with my boys last week. They are the short guys, I'm the big guy. I am putting it in as an attachment so if anyone would like to actually place the pictures into the thread, feel free.
ETA: Hell, I surrender. If anyone would like to PM me their e-mail address, I will send them the pics to post.

Then close out that page and get back to the page you type your post on. Then click "Submit." Then click on the picture in your post. Then copy the address. Then go to "Edit." Nope... just truthful.

Here's one with the better half...And then 2 daughters together
Beautiful family dvd...without a doubt!
I could be wrong, but I don't think that's a 'before and after' with Bristoe; we was just having you on with that first pic. If it is you Bristoe, I have a question: is that JC or the Zig Zag man on your chest? I'm assuming the latter, unless the two smoking joints on either side are actually supposed to be candles or incense or something...
I was pretty heated up after dragging this guy out of the valley.
Those few inches of snow on the leaves made it pretty slick on the hillside.
He couldn't have expired in a worse spot.
Well worth it though.
He won me $20 off of my Dad who didn't believe he was 20"+ inside. There is nothing like winning a bet with your old man.
Dad and I only enjoy getting pictures taken when there is a blood on our hands. Otherwise we are not very photogenic.....but our better halves wanted a pic.
I think you're both photogenic and it's a great pic of you and your pop!
Hey Peterbilt....great job with the thread idea!!

That's odd............ My "Mrs." suggested I shave.
I had chin whiskers when I first stareted courting my wife. Then I shaved, and she didn't like it. Grew it back out. I shaved right before our Montana trip this summer, and I think she like the baby face. Started growing out the full face whiskers at fish camp last week, and the verdict is still out, but I think she will like the contoured beard. Great thing is, I'm like a Mr Potato Head; I can shave it off and grow it back right quick.
My fiance.

Fine looking family sir.
The same goes to all here. Good looking group.
Here's another.
May I ask what that is that you shot?
May I ask what that is that you shot?
Yeah, I know. I don't hang with good photographers. It's a hairy boar. It was still dark out. Flash didn't work, I guess. The nose of the animal is by my right hand.
That's what I thought, but wasn't quite sure.
The snout did strike me as boarish.
That's what I thought, but wasn't quite sure.
The snout did strike me as boarish.
Yes, rather.
That was a very memorable day. Had to chase that animal a good ways, behind a pack of Plott Hounds. They finally hemmed it in in a stream, where the fight was on by the time I got there. Took aim and fired at about 20 yards distance, and put one heavy .44 caliber round right in the front of his chest, splitting the heart open. He stood for another few seconds, but the dogs knew he was dead on his feet, because they tore into him right after. Hounds won't actually bite down on a boar until after it's mortally wounded, unlike a Pitbull.
Okay....here is me and my snowman from this winter...isn't he the cutest snowman EVER. Never got enough snow to build a big one....

I brought a BIG BLACK trash bag home from fish camp last week, full of dirty clothes that smelled, well, like butt. The Rib started to dig in and wash them (as she loves her man and is willing to do whatever she can to make his life comfortable) and I begged her not to open that bag! I love my wife too much to put her through it.
Ned, wash your clothes.

Some folks are more interested in privacy than others, ie many use a handle and don't list where they live. As folks get to know eachother they'll get to know eachothers names and locations through pm's. Also there are some freaks out there.
I don't post pics of my wife and kids due to the freak angle.
HG is a beautiful gal but what makes her really attractive is she has a has a set of coglione and stuck out all the initial crap she took here..

I don't post pics of my wife and kids due to the freak angle.
true, true. this we all know (B&BW are quite emphatic about it). maybe some day we'll become "in the loop" too

That is a great picture and reminds me a bit of one Larry Zabel, who is a Montana artist, painted which is called "Montana Black Gold". It is one of my favorites of several of his I have.
get rid of the mountains in the background and it looks close
im out on the "flats", atleast as flat as Montana gets....
very cool painting though!
Well, I'm usually the guy with the camera and I don't often point it at myself, but I did manage to find one a little better from last Xmas.

my knees are to damn bad for me to wear much other than tennis shoes 99% of the time, the lighter the better. my wife thought i needed a pair of cowboy boots a couple years back 1/2 hour of trying them on in i was looking for my pain pills and a stiff drink so she gave up on the idea
soooooooooo a consequence of this is i REALLY dont care to be out hunting if it gets to cold. most well insulated boots ive come across weight so damn much i loose interest in walking to fast to even bother going out.

names across the top ... Michael, Marron, and Jordan are my three younger brothers ... Jordan is no longer dating Sydnee, but is engaged to an equally stunning woman named Sarah ... Brent and Marae are married, and are still good friend of us all ... and Michael is married to my wife's younger sister ... I'll see if I can scrounge up a pic of them to complete the deal ...
Holding company like that I'd be grinning like a possum too!

Well, maybe if I ever actually get to go hunting, I'll post a pic of me and whatever I shot, until then, I've hardly earned it.
Okay, now that I've got the hang of posting pix... Here's one of me (on the right) with my buddy Dave and a mess of dead Wisconsin panfish...
And lastly, here's a more civilized picture. This pic was taken on the occasion of my surprise 50th birthday party a couple years back. The tall babe beside me is my (happily married) sister Lori, and in front are my son Luke and daughters Aly and Abby.

TREY...Even though I certainly don't want one, you said you owed me a favor once, right??? smart-assed grin
Dude, absolutely no disrespect intended but they got some pretty awesome chromosomes in your household!!
guys ... that is, indeed, my mom ... she's very blessed ... she'll be turning 60 this year, and that photo was taken about 4 years ago ... When she and I are out in public together, people think she's my older sister ... so don't worry about it, I'm used to it ...

You'll have to tell me Doc, in about 9 years, exactly what that moment feels like.
Great job on getting the job done,Doc!!

Here's the secret: never, under
any circumstances, succumb to the temptation to tally up how much it is costing you, has already cost you, or will cost you. To do so is to invite yourself to commit seppuku forthwith!
The point is to get your kids the best education you can afford. All three of ours went to the same small Midwest liberal arts college (student body 100, average class size = 12, annual tuition and fees #@%^@#x*&). A Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude (we have two of the former and one of the latter) from a place like this means something when they apply to grad/law/med school.
Anyway, if you don't think about how big the hole in your bank account is while it's going down, when you're done you'll not only be alive and not addicted to antidepressants, but you'll be AMAZED at all the cash you suddenly have on hand! Time to start stokin' the retirement funds BIG time now... LOL!
Yeah Sam,
Largemouth it is. That particular lake holds both Large and Smallmouth in good numbers with decent size. Generally we cast toward shore and docks and boat lifts for the Largemouths and cast away from shore for the Smallmouths.
Dave
Thanks for posting that dawhip...I thought my buddy sam was talking about me when I saw largemouth!!!
A Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude (we have two of the former and one of the latter) from a place like this means something when they apply to grad/law/med school.
Apparently the Latin word pronounced "KOOM", and meaning "with" is spelled the same as a naughty word blocked by the board... LOL
Well, just get one of you and the hummers landing on your hand.............

I've been away from home during the day for the last week, and now that I'm back, I've only seen a single hummer, and he won't let me as close to him as the young ones did. Don't know what happened while I wasn't around, guess it was time for the babies and moms to go finally. But hey, if I get a picture of one sitting on my hand, I'll post it.

I always made sure the feeder was full and fresh. And there's lots of flowers around they like as well, if they got tired of the nectar.
Ralphie...nice pic at the brandin'. Good to see a cowboy who can be a true horseman snaffle bit , slobber straps and all...grin

Yes, photobucket.com. Put your pics there, and paste the IMG tag from under the pic into a post and you're done.
I am sure you are going to get a few offers on that one.
I didn't necessarily mean it as a solicitation though, of course. I'll be rather selective when it comes to a guide..
This one is kind of a favorite of mine. It was taken in 2003 at a special instructors' invitational at Chapman Academy in Columbia, MO. On the left is legendary IPSC founder and multi-time World Champion Ray Chapman, middle is my mentor Massad Ayoob, and that's me on the right... BTW, that's a really steep driveway we were standing on... Ray and I are about the same height, while Mas, well...
From the same class... workout buddy Billy Mitchell and I mugging for the camera. The woman who took the picture used it in an article she wrote for "Women and Guns" magazine. Dunno why. We look pretty pasty, if you ask me. Mind you, it
was early April...
BTW, that sweet rifle I'm holding is a JP loaned to me by a friend who knows the prez of JP Rifles. It was one of the sweetest CQB AR-15's I've ever had the pleasure of working thru a combat course with.

All I can say is, you won't catch me, or any one of my family members or friends going to ANY job interview of any kind in shorts, tee shirt, and flip-flops ... you can bank on that ...
This is really great. It is nice to be able to put faces to the names. Thanks to all who have posted. To those who will not I can certainly understand.

Steve,
Great pic of you. Great pic of the deer also.

FINE looking family..
My wife and I a little earlier this year.
as an aside I said I'm the nice looking one and then you had to ask, that really cuts to the core. (grin)
all right, y'all asked for it.
here's a pic of me holding a yellow cat of about 40 pounds or so ... and yes the cat is much better looking, but not inclined to smile at the moment. caught last summer.
What kinda bait did you use to lassoo him through the gills like that? Looks like a bowline in the rope, and what is the breaking strain on that line? I'd like to see the rod and reel you use that on.
caught on a trotline. rope was used to drag 'im up to the shack ...
but i'm a gonna get me one that size or bigger on rod and reel before the summer's out ...
Beautiful country and very nice fish. Where is that?
Jim
as an aside I said I'm the nice looking one and then you had to ask, that really cuts to the core. (grin)
Shoulda got the wife to check y'all out and she if'n she coulda picked you out I guess. You're all ugly as hell in my book.
As an aside, nice to finally put a face with the name. Been along time since I first saw your ramblings over on Kifaru with OZ. Does he ever post anymore?
Steve,
Great pic of you. Great pic of the deer also.
Jim
Deer was less pleased than I was with performance of .257 Roy.
My apologies to General Patton.
jds,
yeah been awhile since first found out bout this whole internet gig via Kifaru.
Oz don't post at all anymore, have tried to get him to check this site out due to all the good info and good folks, but he stays a busy boy.
He just became a grandpa on the 11th of this month!
Gawd how time flies, that brochure Justin has up for his website must be from sometime in the 90's.
Neither Oz nor I had any snow on the mountain in those days, but there's plenty now! The SOB was a force to be reckoned with getting around in the country around the time that photo was snapped.
Man we had us some times in that little corner of the world.
Still can't believe my pic didn't jump out at ya as I look like a petunia in an onion patch next to them ugly sumbitches I called compadres.

Here's a pic of me and Tucker from about '98. I just posted it on the pet thread so it was easy to post here.
Nine years later a little less hair and a prettier pardner.
I never have learned how to dress.....
This is the most recent pic I have of me and "The Whip", at Harv's graduation.
They told me to wear something colorful for picture day, but besides a sports coat and about eight green or black T-shirts, all I could find in the closet was my old Boy Scout uniform.
Damn...it still kinda almost fit!
And lastly, somewhat hung-over on vacation...

All you other guys with the hotties, thanks for posting as well. How do you save threads here at the Fire so I can go right to it when it starts to dimmer?
Classic! I'm with ya on that!
Welcome sir.
You've stumbled into the only thread that hasn't degenerated into a fight
Awwww f*&% off and die shreck!
(sorry buddy, didn't want the new guy to get the wrong idea bout the place, (grin))
Hehehehe, well I think your belief that a certian caliber is superiour to another obviously means you are a sexual degenerant.
And a .270 is clearly not enough gun to shoot yourself with.
Lake Michigan? Nice pic!
Nice gal too btw. Same avatar?
Pup appears unimpressed with the photo op....<grin>
No, it was January, Playa Del Carmen.
Unfortunately, no Lisa Loeb (similar look, voice isn't even close!)but thanks.
Yeah, he's not a fan of wearing hats.
What did he graduate from?

Looks like he's a good lap dog now..

Wow thanks shreck I always wondered what caused the degenerate part! Had no idea it was cause folks that prefer .284 love the women and folks that prefer .30 caliber dig guys!
It all makes sense now. (grin)
Fish280, great pic! You look about as nice a guy as I'd imagined as well...
Okay now...if yer gonna make many/multiple posts in the 'show your face' thread, without actually posting a pic of yourself, what will it take to persuade you to make it happen!?!?!?! COME ON Ms SL
Lake Dorothey, Colorado. Near Raton, New Mexico.
I was just thinking the same thing!
Sorry, I'll go away now.
No no, not trying to chase you off. Just trying to persuade, that's all.
Don't go nowhere SL!
(post it!!)
I'm not going anywhere
just will try not to post on this thread anymore until I decide to post a pic...
Could be awhile..
SL,
email a picture of you,to me...i'll post it for ya...get ya off the hook there
One pic will buy you another 20 free posts
All in good fun Ms SL!
Seriously, no shame, don't blame ya for not pic'ting. Took me a long time too.
And lastly, somewhat hung-over on vacation...
Cancun?
Whoops, never mind
January, Playa Del Carmen
Are those nets to keep out sharks or to keep the tourists from being swept up in the current?
Obviously everyone on here is not as photogenic as myself, thus the reason to not post pic's of themselves! Don
Maybe this will help draw SL out. Here's my better half with the only fish we've caught this year.
It seems only right if you name a boat after your wife she catch the first fish on it.
Your wife is as beautiful as the scenery, 458!!
458 Lott,
Great scenery all around...............Lucky man!
Mark
As they say, better lucky than good
BTW, she has a JD, and the kids are finally old enough she'll have time to hit the books and see about passing the AK bar.
458, your wife is lovely and the photo is absolutely fantastic!
Sorry dude, but your mom's HOT!
+1, Damn Trey...
As they say, better lucky than good
BTW, she has a JD, and the kids are finally old enough she'll have time to hit the books and see about passing the AK bar.
================================================================
I didn't think Alaskans passed bars!!
Steelhead...If you see this please PM me for update...thanks!
Isaac, that's a good one, and sadly very true for many.
Actually there is a nutcase/loudmouth local character wanna be politicean PITA in Anchorage who's husband has failed the bar over 20 times. He must have finally thrown in the towel, as I haven't heard recent reports of what the count is now. Hmm, I wonder what happened to her, as it seems she hasn't had such a large presence in local politics as of late. Seems to have coincided with her son getting busted for accessing porn off the internet while in high school.
Wow, she has her own website
http://www.tobermeyer.info/

I'm not really sure, but they really leave a hell of a burn on your neck.
Not sure when I've enjoyed a thread more...
Thanks everyone - it really adds a lot to put some faces with the names of so many I have come to like so much around here.
I guess I'll play, too...
Ugly hunter, pretty deer...
Good coyotes called in with one of my 3 little boys...Man I am blessed!!!
Next year - prettier deer, uglier hunter (at least part of the pattern is positive
)

Great picture, where was it taken?
Mark
DJ...great deer buddy and that pic of your son with the yotes is a classic. Give him an 8x10 framed pic of that when he's 18. he'll keep it forever!
Randy...Is there an actual pic of you somewhere? I've missed it if there is. I need to see if the face of the man who writes such nicely written replies matches the look!! Off for another full day of trial. I'll get back with you good folks tonight.
Do me a favor good people, post some nice ones. It makes for a nice ending to a long day.
Here is my better half Joanne in North Carolina in May.
Here I am with a young turkey that I caught while riding the four wheeler up the raceway at the farm......I refer to it as
A large "Turkey" holding a small "Turkey"! Mark
Both are good looking turkey's.
Nice pic of your wife.
Jim

Go to page 2 of the link Randy posted and look for the handsome SOB. If you can't find him, like I couldn't, look for the guy named Randy Reynolds.

That's a fine looking bou...

ain't much of a rack, though.
big grin to fish280
still perplexed that jds couldn't spot me quick what with the handsome clue I gave. Heck that was before there was "snow on the mountain" on me, hate to see the response when I get around to posting the "after" pics!

They sure are nice looking. Where are they hunted?
Penty in TX freeranging and on ranches, here are a couple some gentlemen I hunted with harvested in the TX Hill country...
That's a fine looking bou...
just a bonus while hunting was slow
That thing is commonly refered to as a slough shark, a hammer handle, a long-nosed trout -- NEVER a bou'.

That Axis buck met his demise behind and to the left of this feeder...
The rifle is a late model Winchester model 70 Left hand 300Win Mag...He didn't like TSX's very much....
I'm the one with the hat. And no Bart.....I won't post a photo of the mount.
THAT bear looks awesome!!!!!
Sorry for the cracks about the mount....
It's all good. Kind of funny when I look back at it. Were those pictures of yours taken anywhere around Leakey? Wish we had Axis roaming around up here. That meat is top notch!!
Mike
Glad to see you two are now on good terms. Now that the fracus from last November is over, I just want to say I loved that bantor y'all were exchanging. It WAS hilarious, the jabs and pokes both you guys took at one another.
Hellova nice bear btw!
I hear ya. I figured I had better be nice to Bart, it might be the only way I'll ever get his chili recipe.
Mike
Thats the pic of the infamous bear in the "band"...correct..
He's a dandy..
Bowhunr.....that's awesome buddy.
Yep, that's him....Mr. Banjo.

Or, a young Michelle Pfeiffer?:
Yeah...I'm seeing that Sean. Whether or not people agree, in my book that's a huge compliment. I fell in love with Michelle Pfeiffer in "Tequila Sunrise"
She's hotness. Great compliment to you Houndgirl. Is Sean trying to make up for something??
Not yet.....

Oh, wait, you said "lass".... and were referring to my daughter, huh?
Oops.....
Beautiful family, VA. A little early to be letting that little cutie of yours drink, though, although good on her for letting designated Dad take her home.
LH
Actually everybody, I saw Sean personally a couple months ago as some might know. You might recall how impressed I was with our visit and how much I enjoyed it.
He came up to my law offices for a little business as well as a fun luncheon afternoon. If I remember correctly, he was wearing a $750 suit and a pair of Johnston Murphy's. I might be wrong though!!
If I remember correctly, he was wearing a $750 suit and a pair of Johnston Murphy's. I might be wrong though!!
You are so full of schit....
I don't even know what a Johnston Murphy is.... but the only johnson I'm ever gonna sport is my own....
IIRC, it was a polo shirt, khakis, and a pair of brown Noconas.
I guess I was wrong then!! Saying I was full of schit gave me a flashback as to what the Judge said to a few of my arguments today!!
<laughing>
I thought that was your opponent he was referring to....
Sis,Dad and Me....
... Wife an youngest being artsy...
I had a good day. I know you're feeling like schit so I just wanted to send you a chuckle at my expense.
dvd...get prepared for the sister stuff buddy!!
Yah,I know but she can handle herself, she's a brown belt and soon to be black belt karate..
Very nice all around Mac. I'm really glad you posted. That makes you the first of the HEAT, don't it??
I'll be the first; George, you're sister is hot, dude!

HBB
Your daughter's getting big, VA! She's a cutie!
Penny
Your daughter is absolutely ADORABLE
HBB
HBB;
Thanks!
Penny;
Yeah, she is.... she's as big as most 6 year olds, and she's only 4... And CRAZY smart; she says she "wants to be a paleontologist. They study fossils." She can name just about any dinosaur, correctly pronounced, that you show her a picture of....
Mac, you didn't find her in Michigan did you?
My apologies to General Patton.
Godd damm you look like Dogzapper.
Ngrumba,
After seeing your Avatar and this picture, my guess is that you have quite the trophy room!

SL,
Got your pic in the mail today. Thanks. I really appreciate it.
You look just as I expected you would.
Jim
Don't have to mention that, Jim, my pic is on all my business cards.
Was the old Savage stock okay that I sent?? There was just that bad area on the checkering, should still work for you though, right?

DJ...great deer buddy and that pic of your son with the yotes is a classic. Give him an 8x10 framed pic of that when he's 18. he'll keep it forever!
Thanks, Isaac! I think I'll do just that.
He was just 3 in the photo (big boy for his age - notice he's already over 4 wires high on a good fence
), so I don't know if he'll remember the hunt, but maybe the picture will remind him of a good day with Dad...You can't believe how tickled he was with those coyotes!
He loves to hunt and shoot. Let him shoot a little 223 just after he turned four and he shot up the whole box and had me digging for more. We had to trot down to see each bullet hole, and he was minute of deer at 100 yards in pretty short order.
DJ
Very nice........Do you have a picture of your trophy room or should I say "Rooms"?
Mark
I have animals throughout the house - not enough room for a trophy room. I will have to take a few pictures when we get finished painting. Here are a few-

Your daughter is gorgeous Sean. Gotta show off one of my grand-daughter...
Happy Birthday pic...grin
Sorta looks like a big, dark, blesbock of sorts....beautiful animal, for sure!! Thanks for the clarification....
HoundGirl
A blesbok has a white face, and a little differently shaped horns.
Nice mounts Ngrumba. I really like your use of pedestals as a solution for low ceilings.
YES!!!! There he is. I just love 'em! LOL...I had that one mussed up
.
Sorry, have my mind on football tonight (don't ask<giggles>)...but I appreciate you posting that clarification.
You sure do have some really nice critters...thanks for sharing all the pics...
HoundGirl
It worked perfectly. That small are is barely noticible. At least this stock is still in one piece.
Jed...I didn't know Lulu was a nickname for Lauren. I'll never forget that name now. Is Lulu her making or yours? 2 more months brother and it's Mrs Lulu and Mr Jed! It goes without saying that I hope all is going perfectly well and smoothly for you both. It's an anxiety riddled time for some.
Lulu is Cindy...did you even look at the invite?
Lauren is my Bro...and Best Man.
I'll see if I can find a pic.
Your beautiful invite is sitting in my hand for the third time now and my bad ol buddy. Shouldn't post before coffee! I'll have it back out in the mail today to make it up to you! Had three days of trial and i just need to re-group and decompress.
Hope you're not pissed!
Me with a bear, Im the one on the right, sharps 40-70
No Sir,not pissed at all...pissed don't pay well anywho.

Happy looking family there, BigMamma! Good for you.
Okie, your granddaughter is adorable!
That's a hartebeest - from Namibia. His coat is red and quite soft. Thanks.
I always wondered what those things were.
Hit this with my truck by accident the other night...
Not really, RSA '02
Ngrumba,
Do you have any field pics that you could post, I'd love to see them.
You guys married way over your heads....punted way beyond your coverage....(grin)
okay this is me, I'm the one on the right with the horns. I caught the fellow on the left wandering through my territory so I snuck up on him in the mist and got him with the .243.
You dont often get hunters with that kind of dim look on his face so I skinned him out and got him as a rug back in the forest.
Great pics of you guys. I love to see kiddos having a great time. Did you have her first fish stuffed or did it stuff you?

That's a nice hartebeest you have yourself, sir!
I can hog this thread a post and few more field pics I suppose With my friend Greg. We tracked this elephant 11 days, and walked 60+ miles. Do we look happy? Gemsbok. This is a male. The females usually have longer horns but smaller bases. The PH really had to look at this one a long time to determine it was male, because it is long, but the bases are not very big. Mrs Ngrumba and a springbok. I shot two this trip - this one which is typical with the bell shaped horns, and one which was deformed with horns that went straight back like a sable. A blue wildebeest - one of the easiest animals to judge - if the horns extend past the eartips - it's a big one. This is one of my best trophies as far as scoring goes. I'm not an "inch man" though - a representative animal is great - it's the hunt that mattersSeen enough or should I continue?
Continue, I enjoy the great pictures.
Once again Ngrumba great pictures. That is one huge tree.
Mark
great pics and the impossible........ even better captions,
wish you'd mount Hilary on your wall, I'd come over and ask to play darts!
Ngrumba,
Thanks dude, those are some excellent pics. That springbok looks massive (horns). Do you have field pics of the bushbuck to post?
My smallest is my best, a monster well over 5".
What's NGRUMBA in Swahili ?
puff adders arent one of the most poisonous snakes as far as toxicity.......however its pretty high on the unpleasantness scale.....dissolves muscle tissue like you wouldnt believe but its not terribly nerotoxic so its less likely to out right kill yah than something like some cobras or mambas which will stop your heart and your breathing fairly quick.........bout the only thing i can think of off the top of my head thats worse in snake venom are the boomslangs..........
Here is my first horseback hunt out West. It was actually a cull hunt, we were looking for wild donkeys. Never did find any.
Yours truly taking a bath in fresh snowmelt. I had to use this modest pose as the raw, uncovered sight of my Olympian physique makes married women unhappy with their partners and and leaves the unmarried women who view it unduly consternated and frustrated.
OMGosh...that first pic is PRICELESS!!!
HoundGirl
OK, I'm going to see if this works:
BTW he was a ten point when I shot him, but broke off the end of the mainbeam and th G-4 in a spectacular somersault after a 50 foot death sprint.
Was that 50 foot death sprint yours or his??
Very nice nebraska. Adding "My top scoring trophies" to your family pic was a very nice touch.
This thread has dominated my constant enjoyment of this site!!
There's a lot of hotties throughout this thread that should find a way to Raton!!
Nebraska,
I love the pic of your little darling smelling the flowers. How CUTE!!!!!
Keep it up guys.
Jim
Very nice family Jeff. We still have to do lunch sometime.
Mike
Thanks guys! My daughter got a kick out of seeing her pic online too....
Mike - sounds good to me. Just don't forget to bring the pics from your trip to Russia!
Nebraska, great family picture. Your son is just adorable with those dimples!
Isaac, what's in Raton?

preparationCut pancetta into 1/3-inch dice, then cook in a deep 12-inch heavy skillet over moderate heat, stirring, until fat begins to render, 1 to 2 minutes.
I'm going to have to print this off for future use. Sounds great.
Miss SL, not trying to shame ya here or anything, but 36 posts in this thread, yet no pics of ya. Loosen up already girl, and post!
DO IT
while we're waiting on SL to post a pic of her mug ... here's a pic I snapped a few mornings ago ... figured it rated being posted ...
Adorable.
Before SL posts a pic of herself, though, we'll see graduation pics of that lil' darlin'....
You know me too well, VA!
She's a cutie, WGM.
WGM,
You will be one busy father from the ages of 13 and 18!

Wanting pictures of SL and other ladies? I thought most of y'all were fisherman, you just aren't usin' the right bait!
Since I posted my streamside picture, I've had several PM's from forum members with offers of marriage and one offer to be a kept man, most accompanied by
very revealing pictures of the correspondents.
(And yes, the offers of marriage
were from women. The "kept man" request was from someone whose handle I didn't recognize, however, it originated in Alaska so I can't be sure about that one.

I just caught up on this thread. Since it's turned into post the family, I thought I'd share one of the kids on an unamed island. No better way to spend the 4th of July than a picnic on your own private island.
Me with my new bow (CSS Encore 35 last May). Yes I cut the grass after shooting.

cause of the few of us that post around here most is hitched except me and one or two others.
Hello all, this is me doing what I love best.
HBB;
Thanks!

Yeah, she is.... she's as big as most 6 year olds, and she's only 4... And CRAZY smart; she says she "wants to be a paleontologist. They study fossils." She can name just about any dinosaur, correctly pronounced, that you show her a picture of....
VA, sounds just like my 4 year old son. Big for his age and loves dinosaurs. He has a better vocabulary than some of the college students I work with.

Hi RL,
How do folks fish that close together without snagging each other?
River Lady,
Great picture....................How about a few more.
Mark
Hi RL,
How do folks fish that close together without snagging each other?
Very carefully. LOL
Oh my gosh, right before I hooked in to her there was a couple guys tangled behind me and a couple in front of me. Don't ask me how I got out of that mess to fight her, don't have a clue.
But I managed.
Does that one guy behind you realize he's got the wrong end in the water?
He may be a little distracted.........

No honey, most men don't.

Ok, here ya go.
Don't have many pics on the work computer. This is one from earlier this summer, eating crawfish and drinking beer. I'm in the white shirt
At a wedding a few months ago with my girlfriend Jennifer
It's funny how you get a mental image of people on a forum. Most of the people on here look nothing like what I expected. I'll try to remember to post some more pics tonight.
Damn....those mud bugs sure look good!!!
Mike
LSU Fan, I am envious of you, all them mudbugs, shoot, I'd burst before I was done eating them.
Does that one guy behind you realize he's got the wrong end in the water?
You two ladies are a real riot.
RL and SL. The dynamic duo.
Jim
LSU fan,
Those are really cool pics, I'm envious of all those crawfish.
You must be in a sympathy relationship with that gal, she could sure do a lot better..Hahaha!
Just kidding of course, you are fine looking couple!

I'll be the first to admit she could do better. Lord knows I wouldn't put up with myself
Since when do people in the midwest and northwest eat crawfish? LOL That was probably the best batch we had this year. Ended up with plenty of extras and I ate till my fingers were almost bleeding. Can't wait till next spring, I'm craving them again already.
Since I lived down there for about 6 years total, i love them little things.
Me too. I only lived down there for a couple of years, but it was the first time in my life when I had to watch my weight. I still love that food. I guess I've been spoiled for life.
Paul
Since when do people in the midwest and northwest eat crawfish?
Well, when I was a kid our next door neighbors were, well......coon asses from Luzzianna. Every spring the gunny sacks of mudbugs would show up and a fiest was enjoyed by all. I still order them fresh every spring and we have a cajun restaurant here in town that.....lets just say we're on a first name basis.
Mike

You have to say...... Laissez les bon temps rouler (lay ZAY lay bon ton rule ay) - Let the good times roll!
You can catch crawdads anywheres, can't ya'?
Yeah, you can, but it's the cookin' them that trows most folks off. I call them po folk lobster! And they are damn good. Les
This thread has been 85 pages of pure Campfire cool!
No....just crabs.
Mike

The good times did, and continue to roll. Those neighbors had to do with some of my best childhood memories!
Mike
Its easy to get spoiled by the food here. I lived in Minneapolis for 4 months a couple of years ago and lost 15 #s. Its way easier when the food is bland and not tempting.
LSU....Jennifer's gorgeous.
Hello all, this is me doing what I love best.
================================================================
WHAT?...Walking with 20 guys following you?
I hear ya. Do you ever come up to Omaha for the college world series when LSU makes it? We (Omaha) love the LSU fans!! They are hands down the most fun to be around!! I don't think there is one person in Omaha that would rather see the Huskers in the series than LSU....well maybe one or two. You guys know how to party, and I dig what your women will do for beads!!
Mike
LSU....Jennifer's gorgeous.
Thank you, I tend to agree. Best part is she likes hunting, boating, shooting, and has her own 4 wheeler. Plus she manages to look good after spending all day on the river.
I'll be in BR for the LSU/Auburn game. I have a lifelong buddy who lives there still. I'll keep you posted and perhaps we could all hook up for an evening. If you're stuck, Jennifer can still come!!

Never made it up there but wish I would have when LSU was in there glory years. I've heard a lot of stories about how great LSU gets treated in Omaha. And yeah, our woman can get a little wild at times.
Speaking of beads, theres a reason we pay a lot of money to get dressed up and stupid costume and throw them.
We even do parades on the river in the winter...
The two older folks are my parents. Notice the LSU SEC Championship shirt I'm wearing

Yep, it's called BOOBS!
I want to party with you!! You, me, all those beads, with LSU in Omaha, it would be a "target rich environment"!!!
Mike

We'll be there. Drop me a line closer to game time and I'll let you know where we'll be tailgating so you can stop by for some grub and a drink.

John ... I've still got your number, and need to give you a call to set some plans for the football season this year ... I especially want to get us together when Isaac is in town ... I think we could have a little fun ... (grin)
oh yah ... I forgot to tell you one other thing ...
you done good, ropin' Jennifer in ... (grin)
I think we could have a little fun ...
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I personally guarantee it Trey!!!
Bob ... just tell me you're going to be rooting for LSU, and not AU ... lie if you have to ... (grin)
LSU is where I began my collegiate career! I'll have my LSU garb on, I can assure you. My buddy Bernie spent all 4 years there and never left.
LongBranch Saloon still in BR??
If I can make, I promise not to make it a repeat of my first trip to Baton Rouge.... a 3-day road trip to an LSU game turned into 10 days in the arms, apartment, and bed of one HELLA hot Cajun girl....
Yeah, I'd be pulling for LSU, just for the memories....
I promise not to make it a repeat of my first trip to Baton Rouge
=================================================================
OH...So Adrienne does read the Fire huh?
No, but you've seen how she shoots....
LOL ...
Sean, ... if you can, get yourself and Adrienne down here for the LSU/AU game ... I promise we'll have fun ... (grin)
oh yah ... I forgot to tell you one other thing ...
you done good, ropin' Jennifer in ... (grin)
'preciate it, you don't look like you're doing to bad yourself.
Was talking to a friend today about tailgating, gonna try to get a regular group together to hang out with this year. Park in the same spot every week, cook, etc. Walking all over campus toting an ice chest is getting old.
I'll let you know if anything that resembles a plan comes together.
Sounds like we've got a campfire get-together brewing? Wonder if any of the other Auburn fans on the board are coming down for the game?
I used to be in a pretty large group that did the regular tailgate thing ... did it for about 7 years in a row, same place everytime ... right across the street from the Indian Mounds on the corner between the drive to Broussard Hall and the 'split' down to the back of the PMAC ...
Once all of us started having kids, and LSU put up all the bollards to keep cars off the grass, it kinda ruined our spot ... so we basically disbanded ...
But, of course I'll encourage you to get a group together so that I'll have yet another party to drop in on each game ... possibly set up some plans with you to be part of the party for a game or two and supply some food/drink ...
anyway, we DO need to get some plans for the LSU vs. AU game and see who can make it ... short of a hunting trip, I can't think of a better set of circumstances for a get-together of friends ...
For the past 6 or 7 years I've done the walk around from party to party thing trying to see everyone. Am thinking it would be a nice change of pace to let everyone come to me. Whatever we get going, I'll let you know. Assuming we do get a group up I'll be glad to host the campfire for the Auburn game.
Just count me in ... and tell me what I can bring to add to the menu ...
The two older folks are my parents.
Older?????? They look pretty young to me.
By the way you have a lovely girlfriend.

This has been one of the most enjoyable threads in a long time. Makes me feel a bit guilty not posting any pics. So here goes...

It sounds like you had a little to much
fun. That is why you need to share this experience so we don't make the same mistake!

a Fireman carry out of the house ! Mark
The two older folks are my parents.
Older?????? They look pretty young to me.
By the way you have a lovely girlfriend.
Jim
I guess its all relative.
Although I have noticed they don't seem nearly as ancient as I used to think they were. And thanks.
hope this works...... this is my first buck that i got 2 years ago
my first deer PS: im in the orange
Nice pic and very nice deer. If you paste the IMG line from your Photobucket account, the image will appear here...like this
Chris
Nice deer indeed. What did you shoot it with, if I may ask?
Great looking family Chris
Where were you guys boating at?
Does the youngest take after his Dad?
Elf,
Rockland Lake, about 10 minutes from our home.
Looks-wise, Stephen seems to have the best from Sheila and me (thankfully more from Sheila). At 4 he weighs 50+ solid pounds. He also inherited my hard-headedness and Sheila's stubborness
What a mix! Overall, he's a very happy kid who thinks he can charm his way through life. To a great degree he has been successful.
Chris
He does look like a handful but a fun handful. Kids they sure do keep you hopping. I'll have to add pics next month when I return from my oldest's wedding.
Does that one guy behind you realize he's got the wrong end in the water?
You two ladies are a real riot.

.308 winchester pump ; Hornady 150 inter-lock (my dad reloads bullets)
Thx for the help Chris, I'll get it someday
I've posted a ton of pics of me hunting......here is one of me doing my other thing: softball.
Passes the time between hunting seasons......
Here I am, under the red arrow. Pic is of the 50+ team I play for. We won our classification in the the 50+ ISSA World Cup held in Manassas about three weeks ago. (don't get any ideas, I am 49, won't turn 50 until Oct., but that makes me eligible to play 50+
)
Not bad for someone who is recovering from a busted back.....
Tony
Me and my buddy Gus.
Too bad you don't look as good as your dog and got stuck with your dad's looks.
The last one I posted here was terrible. I got a better one the other day, so I'll post it.
Too bad you don't look as good as your dog and got stuck with your dad's looks.
Ya don't need any DNA testing to prove I'm yours. The dog is the better looking of the two of us, but I'm "smarter" than the dog....most days.
Heres a pic from this spring. I'm the one on top of the wood pile. It was an uncomfortable ride back to camp I must add. The older guy is a bear hunting buddy.
It was an uncomfortable ride back to camp I must add
Looks like that could chaff ya!
Here is me and one of my "Trophy's" from last year. miles
Here's me with my .300 Savage:
And, so fishing is represented, my dad and me (on left) this past year. I got the 30" Northern Pike and he got the 21" Walleye:
Aqualung
Here's a couple pics with the buck I shot with my 480 SRH........
Milespatton,
Nice buck. Did you take it with a bow or rifle?
Aqualung,
Great picture of you and your dad, cherish those moments!
2muchgun,
Nice buck..........How many yards out? Tree stand ,blind or did you still hunt?
Great pictures gentleman!
I was 25ft up in a cedar tree stand we call the "Tower of Death". It has produced many nice bucks since it's existence. It was about a 25yd shot right thru the heart with a 325gr gold-dot. He only went 15yds tops.......
I took that one with my 7mm08 improved and 120 gr ballistic tip. I killed one almost like him earlier in the year with my muzzle loader. miles
Can't argue with your choice of chamberings........
2gun...How much did that deer weigh, man??
It does look like a healthy sized deer.
Great pics ya'll. Man.........what a deer!!!
Jim
I never weighed that deer. However, I shot another one that weighed 205lbs and we all agreed that this one was for sure bigger. I'd guess close to 220lbs......
OK...answer the cute chick.......I get it!!grin
It weren't intentional.............(let him think that, SL, you know the game).......
I needed as shave in this pic. that was a few hard days of hunting.
I'm on the right
Last year in AK
Jamie
Right on Bob!!!!! I noticed he ignored us. What are we......chopped liver (maybe Bob is)?????
I'm cute too.
Jim
Great pics Jamie. How much did the Bear weigh?? OK SL. Ask Jamie how much it weighs so he will answer.
Jim
Nice bear, Jamie, what did it weigh in at? And what did you shoot it with?
I'm not sure what the bear weighed, it was a fat sow that I passed on at less then ten yards the first time I seen it. I was hunting with Joel in Paradise AK on my last night there. When shee came walking by the second time I told Joel to plug his ears and hit her with a 200gr, accubond out of the 300RUM, she went right down. Not a monster SE AK bear but one of the most memorible hunts I've ever done and when the rug comes back from the taxidermist I'll have a trophy to remember the Paradise hunt from.
Jamie
In the pic. I weighed about 225# and the bear weighed more then me.
Jamie
Oh well Jim, I guess he thought you were the cute one..
I didnt want anyone the think I ignored them.
Jamie
Thanks for asking SL. I am the cute one for an old fat bald guy.
Nice Bear Jamie.
Jim
Look at his pic in the "Show Your Face" thread SL...Jim's the one on the left!!!
Look at his pic in the "Show Your Face" thread SL...Jim's the one on the left!!!
Are you sure I'm on the left?????
Jim
You're as big as a phone booth!!
Watch it Bob. He is a BIG guy.
Jim
He looks like an Auburn lineman!!
That's really a great question as of late SL?
Can't remember the last one I saw and, IIRC, it was in a shambles when I did!!
Note to self: Don't piss off OldCenterChurch!
Tight-end at The Citadel and later fullback at Auburn. Never played a down during a game at Auburn!
Beer and pizza is the recipe!
No, Jim, I'm not going to ask this time!
No, Jim, I'm not going to ask this time!
Get your mind out of the gutter
What??????????
Jim
Nevermind.
HBB, don't know what gutter you're talking about. My mind wasn't there.
Honest.
I came across this the other day. It is my brother, who posts here as Grandview, and our wives celebrating our fortieth wedding anniversaries together in Wisconsin where they live about a year ago. Looking at the photo it is quite obvious that both guys got the best end of the marriage deal.
Babe and I are the ones on the left. Bro and his wife are on the right.
Great picture, Idared. Two very lovely couples.
Here's one for Isaac and VA....pic of me and most of this evening's carnage. Left one in the hole, nobody wanted to reach far enough down the hole to drag him out!
1D
Look at them whistle pigs, nice take. Les
Okay...I know I am not suppose to say so....LOL...but those are CUTE!!! Even dead
!!
HoundGirl
You ain't right, you get that song downloaded yet lady?
This one was a B&C ground griz! He is kinda cute
1D
He looks like he's trying to jump for it.
Damn....sorry guys....but I can't help it....they is CUTIES
!!
HoundGirl
Les,
He wasn't jumpin' anywhere, I had to eventually kick him and his buddies off the tailgate! This was the first one of the evening, my buddy whacked him. He's a pretty good shot for a lawyer!
1D
What the whistle pig do, jump out of his hole at 5 feet and throw up the white flag.
Thats the only way these lawyers out here in Colorado couls have hit him.
150 yd "out the window" shot! He!!, it was almost a "drive by" shooting! This guy ain't into your typical pansy attny. hobbies...Campfire attny. members excepted, he rides Harleys, shoots 1K benchrest, and he's getting back into killin' schitt!
I'd post a pic, but not without his permission, he's pretty well known around these parts of VA.
1D
Now we're gonna have 6 more weeks of bad weather.
Jim
Now we're gonna have 6 more weeks of bad weather.
Jim
I was thinking the same thing........That big one must have cast quite the shadow!
Jim,
If that "bad" weather is cold, I'll take it!!!!!! We need rain, too. This hot and muggy ain't any fun. Looks like we might make it to 100 today, I'm going to shoot more poodles
1D
With 80% humidity Gene.
It's just oppressive up this way.
I think it's days like this that ice cold beer was invented for. Good luck on your shooting buddy and quit tainting that lawyer pard of yours.
I have posted my mug all over here, but this was last week with Doug, classic28 and Scott Thornley on the Kenai River. I believe we called Rick Bin right after this was taken to tell him how badly we were suffering without him...
art
WOW...way cool all around!! Your wonderful wife knew just how to cook it too, didn't she??
Looks like those Royal Robbins just keep on wearing and wearing.
Nice fish!
isaac
Funny thing is she loves the kings and I only tolerate them... I am in the red salmon is best camp. Kings are way oily, but in a soft texture sort of way and have a defined "muddy" taste. Many (probably most) prefer them to reds... I don't.
But grilled or planked they are quite edible... I just get picky because of the variety available...
art
SU35
Yeah they are tough. Got them good and dirty this last go around... From fish blood to egg cure to grease to plain old dirt...
art
Gene,
We have been getting quite a bit of rain here. Weather has been unseasonably cool until the last couple of weeks. It is now returning to normal with the highs near 100. Humidity is high also. Not as bad as you guys have it though. OUCH!!!!!!
Stay cool ya'll.
Jim
Dang Art. That is a very nice looking fish. I'll bet Rick has never seen one that big much less held one.
Jim
I believe "You Bastids" was his catch phrase that call... For some reason he did not seem to enjoy our frequent update calls!?!
art
BTW Last year Rick did manage to take home a serious pile of fish... at least a couple hundred pounds of fillets, so he is not a total novice when it comes to gloating!
art
I believe "You Bastids" was his catch phrase that call... For some reason he did not seem to enjoy our frequent update calls!?!

I can't imagine why can you? Some folks just can't stand good news.

Great pic of you guys.
Jim
Jim..Those big boys are smiling because it's actually Jack Daniels in that coffee mug. I also think I've seen those two or one of them before around Keyser.
Do you think they are related???????
Jim
Do you think they are related??????? I would say the older one is beter looking...how about you Bob?
Jim
I try too avoid talking about the looks of men who I may see hunting in the woods near me. Even a compliment could be perceived wrong in the hills surrounding West Vaco!!
Gulp......what was I thinking?????
Jim
I've consumed far more Rebel Yell from a coffee mug (hold the coffee please) than Jack. The "purdy mouth" thing was in Georgia. Here the men are men and the sheep run scared. That's why we don't get the "Brokeback Mountain" thing.
Told you Jim!! I have seen lots of sheep on RT. 93, now that I think of it!! I'm still playing hard to get though!!
isaac, now we do get folks a huntin' here that ain't from these parts. We can't vouch for ferners.
We've had that ole Mary Craft farm for 20 years. The town don't consider us ferners anymore. I've spent many afternoons partying with Kruc at his place in Keyser(now gone from him anyway) and it saddens me to see what the Super Wal-Mart has done to the mom and pop businesses there!! Having our fun at the Orioles bar these days!!
Here is a couple of me off the coast of Pakistan launching strikes into Afghanistan.
Cool pictures! I was impressed...
Penny
Here are a couple pictures of Grayling from this morning and last night.
The grotesque bend to the leg is a function of hydraulics... Seems swimming in the glacial Kenai appeals to him...
art
KSMITH...That is just way cool man!!
Great pics Art...Is he fairly tall for his age or is it the pictures?
Beautiful country you get to call home Art!!
KSMITH...That is just way cool man!!
Yeah, and way LOUD. I have spent 19 years getting burnt up and my ear drums blown out by jets. Still pretty fun and then when it gets dark, we turn off the lights and put on the nightvision to make things interesting.
Don't you guys have your own little gimmicks and dance numbers you perform on deck?? grin

He is tall for his age, 5'10", but not as much so as he will be... Docs say 6'9". I used to be 6'4" but 4 herniated discs and years of carrying too much have left me a bit short. His hands and feet are significantly larger than mine and he is just 13. No one ever told me I have small hands or feet...
Getting to the point where tying on the feed bag gets pricey...

Don't know how I missed this post. But I'm glad I now have a face to put with the name. I'll show my brother who used to own his rifle. It was too bad we didn't get the rifle into the pick with his deer.
I found a picture of me. This was 2008 and about 20lbs ago. (she is squishing my face - I have only 1 chin not 9)
That's me on the right dumbasses....
I have no recollection of the pic being taken. I do still talk to the female, but I did lose the hat.
KSMITH...That is just way cool man!!
Yeah, and way LOUD. I have spent 19 years getting burnt up and my ear drums blown out by jets. Still pretty fun and then when it gets dark, we turn off the lights and put on the nightvision to make things interesting.
It's pretty cool they let SEALs do flight deck duty. 😁

All;
Good morning to all who happen to look into this thread, I hope wherever you are and whenever it is you're doing that, that this finds you well.
Thanks to those who've shared what they look like with the rest of us.
While I understand that there are increasingly security concerns in some cases, it's nice - for me - to be able to put a face to the posts.
This is the most recent photo of me - I'm the short one on the right with the cowboy hat.
What we were doing there is covered in this thread here if anyone is interested.
https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbt...2nd-annual-sosa-sheep-count#Post18130943Oh and if for whatever reason any of you wondered what a rural BC accent sounds like, because we do have one or so I've been assured by fellow Canucks from other sections of the country, if you follow this link, the first story in the news broadcast is about the sheep count and Lee asked me if they could interview me as they were looking for "an old guy who'd been on a bunch of counts"... Something like that anyways.

There was actually no fight involved. I decided to dive head first into the Texas Caliche. My face broke my fall and I was duly rescued by a number of 24HCF members, who saved me, and patched me up.....it looked worse a few hours later when the bruising and swelling got underway.

Good afternoon to you my friend, I trust you all are having a decent Friday and you're well.
A couple quick laughs on me if I'm allowed.
As mentioned here a couple times, I'm "one of those builds" where I might have been 5'6" at one time but am shorter now with age for sure, but still wear large shirts because the arms are too short on smaller sizes. I can sorta scratch the back of my calves while standing up sorta thing...
There was some TV news segment that mentioned that most white males with Eastern European backgrounds were likely at least 3% Neanderthal. When my better half heard that, she looked over at me and said - being a lifetime numbers person and all - "We could add a zero at the end of that for you".
Of course I answered, "Hrrruh?"
When our girls were younger, the eldest asked me if I thought she'd be as tall as me when she grew up and I replied that I expected her to set her sights a tad higher than that!
She still laughs that nobody believes her that she's the tallest in her family!!!
All the best to you all this weekend sir.

Brother Fubar;
Good afternoon my friend, I hope that you're getting enough rain out there in your section of Hollywood and that you're all well.
It's pretty dry here, but that's a normal Okanagan summer so if one chooses to stay, one has to be realistic about one's options and all that I figure.
Folks who've met me in person, unless they've got the vision of Helen Keller or Ray Charles I suppose - would quickly figure out I'm not 6'2" and have a full head of hair pretty quickly right?
Long, long ago I made peace with the size and shape I am Brother Fubar and honestly was blessed beyond anything I could ever have done to find someone to marry me who said to me, "I didn't marry you for your size or your hair".
That said, I'll take what you've said as a kind compliment and say a sincere thank you for extending that to me.
All the best to you all this weekend.

Ha! Kind of the opposite here. Short legs, short arms, and I guess a longer torso perhaps. Old man was 5'11", mom was a shorty, 5'4" on a good day. All of us kids came out shorter than dad, and little sister shorter than mom.
The interesting thing is I have to wear large t shirts but can't find pants where the legs fit. Generally have to roll up the cuffs or cut them off like loggin' britches. Mostly now that I'm retired I just wear shorts 80-90% of the year. Screw 'em.
Must have short arms and a stocky chest too. I won a youth model 870 in 20g, told my brother I might trade it/sell it and get something I could use. He told me to try it first as he changed the butstock on his 12g 870 to the youth model stock and it fit much better. Now that little 870 Express is the one I usually grab to go out after a quail or such.
Gloves are a pain to find too. Get the large and they fit my palms fine, fingers are too long. Get the medium and if ( big if) I can squeeze my hands in the fingers usually fit OK.
One might say I ain't normal by any stretch of the imagination.
And I like it that way.
Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. I just ordered firewood for the fall/winter, it'll be here before we know it.
Glad you took it, as intended, Dwayne !!
Rest assured.
So did I.

UH, you must be thinking in Canuck, or Aussie.
When comparing me to the good Dwayne you certainly implied I was short...............like him.
I think I have him by a couple or 6 centimeters.
Funny "short v tall" story. Years ago, when talking to my wife of the future (little did we realize, we were just study Pards) she mentioned a person and asked if I knew him. I asked "is he short or tall".
Her reply "Everyone it tall to me"..............I think she tops out at about 5'2"-5'3" or so.
I would love to post an image of my face, so all campfire members could know me........ but, the though of JellO, Buzz or Calnumb masturbating to my image is something I cannot deal with....

Funny story here. We are page 115 of this thread, so I think we can withstand a little veer.
My wife and I went to the outlet mall looking for hiking socks a few weeks ago. I was in the back of the Adidas store. An black female employee walked right up to me and said "Mmmmhmmm you look like you work out baby." I laughed and told her that I did a little a few years ago, but my 5 times operated on shoulder wouldn't let me anymore. Her eyes drifted up and down my body as she said "well, you still got it goin' on" She paused for a second as her eyes got to my legs and she said "look at those legs, I know you doin' something with them." I laughed again and told her I ride bicycles. She belted out "I know that's right!" I laughed and looked across the aisle. Laurie was doubled over laughing about to piss herself.
