I did that a while ago for smoked French dip sandwiches.
Its a mighty fine chunk for smoking.....he says after doing once......
Very nice thanks gents!!!
Chuck roast burnt ends! That's what we had today.
Turned out damn good!! I recommend it!!
Smoked for 3 hours, double wrapped in foil finish at 200 internal temp...
Very nice. Chuck is underrated.
Nice. Looks great. Going to give that one a go.
That looks great!
Ribs, shanks, roasts...all those cuts with lots of connective tissue and a fair bit of fat seem to do great with some smoke and low ‘n slow.
I really thought you smoked a woodchuck/groundhog when I read the title of the thread.
Couple of my local BBQ spots do a great smoked chuck. Bastards try and tell you it's brisket.
I cooked a chuck on the PK grill Sunday. Chuck is a much better cut than a brisket.
Tried this tonight, on the confidence of Jud...grin...
Pretty good, although my cook time was way more on the Chuck (say 1/3 more) than brisket for some reason. Bark was tough to obtain too. Tasted fantastic though. Three pound chuck roast at 225 took 6 hours to come to 185. No worries. Glad I started early. Homemade BBQ sauce like usual...
Greg;
That looks FANTASTIC!
Bought a 1-3/4 lb small chuck roast to try on the barbie today.
Gonna rub it down with Treager prim rib rub, and sloooow cook on my gas grill, on low, for about 4 hours.
Hope mine turns out as good as yours looks!

It really tasted way better than it looks....
Definitely will do again....
This is how mine turned out.
Seems like the chuck is a good one to learn on. Seems to be very forgiving.

Say, I say.......is 2.77 a pound too much for a store bought brisket??
