Best Rifle for 35 Whelen Convert

So, I have a stainless lefty 30-06 MRC Extreme II in the safe and it’s chambered in 30-06. It’s a great rifle and a crf action to boot. I want to make a 35 Whelen, as I can deer hunt with the caliber in my home state of Iowa, and I have loads of 06 brass, however, I can’t seem to get the rifle out of the safe and sent to JES because I like it as an 06 too much. I was thinking of buying a Tikka 30-06, and sending it off to be rechambered. Wondering what thoughts were on the idea, or if I should just send the MRC in and have it that rifle rechambered. Thanks!

Alive is the only decent song from PJ, and that is because of the guitar work at the end of the song There is nothing decent in their catalog. Gimme a break. I mean really what was grunge anyway? The angst of American middle class kids coming out of the 80s when they already had punk to shout their complaints. Poseurs built for the radio.

I was driving on a hunting trip and had reservations to stay the night in Mitchell, SD. There was a sign in the parking lot, "Do not leave firearms unattended in vehicle.". On the way out the door after I registered there was a sign that said, "No firearms in room." I figured I had to keep my rifles somewhere. I took them in the room with me.

flintlocke,, better luck next year- hang in there.......... Arkansas, ancestral home of Bill Clinton...lol. But still, Mike, we got a chance on winning if they include the dollar amounts stolen. I think Pelosi/Newsom at least should get honorable mention, 128 billion for the Bullet Train...43 billion in covid funds missing...24 billion in homeless spending...etc, etc.

Just an Observation
MAC

DEMs are making a huge play against Trump by trying to hold him criminally liable for decisions made while he was POTUS. Well if that is now acceptable the AG of AZ needs to file murder and gun trafficking charges against OBama.
Obama authorized Operation Fast and Furious which violated the laws of both the USA and MX by providing firearms to the cartels. These firearms were used to kill at least one border patrol agent and over 150 people in MX. An arrest warrant should be served on OBozo so he can enjoy the same scrutiny that Trump is going through.
And while they are at it they should file charges on Bill Clinton for killing innocent civilians when they bombed that pharmacuetical factory in the Sudan. The GOP needs to go into attack mode

Well, I have had my new Hummingbird feeder out for a while now, not a single one, no idea what time of the year they show up here, or if they even will at my location. I did take this picture and a rare sighting it was, went out for a coffee, and to my complete surprise, there he was on my shoreline a Cinnamon Teal!I have only seen two in my lifetime, he was the 2nd and I have been a duck hunter for 55 years. I shot the first one lol Have any of you ever seen one, here he is, with the Miss's. Cheers, and happy bird watching.

Re: The Left Will Never...

After reading the previous posts I hardly know where to begin. Folks can we agree on a couple of points? Our constitutional republic is the greatest form of human self governance conceived by man. Those of us who’ve lived to practice and benefit from this great experiment in self governance, have an obligation,to our descendants , the opportunity for them to participate as well. If we agree on those two fundamentals, how then do we go about preserving our way of life, durning these turbulent, divisive time? Many have implied it’s a hopeless cause, and in fact we are facing monumental odds, however we can not bury our heads in the sand or retreat in to obscurity. In truth, I believe, as evident by our discussion on this site, we are already engaged, do we now need to come to some consensus as to how to unite in a common cause both recognizing and working to defeat our enemies. Let me say at the onset armed conflict, at this stage, should not be even a subject of discussion. We are not facing a foreign adversary invading our country, but what we are facing is a conflict for the hearts and minds of the American people. A people’s that , for decades , have been indoctrinated by the secular humanistic , socialist garbage of a committed Marxist cabal. Our job then is, through our actions and words, re-educate the people on the constitutional principles of our founding and the civic action required for their existence. In other words education is the one and only way to save our republic, we must create the understanding among the peoples so they then will elect conservative responsible leaders. This will not happen quickly, it’s taken the enemy many trillion dollars, extreme co-ordinated effort, and decades for them to achieve the results we face, but they have not won. The constitution is still intact, and we patriots must now use those freedoms enshrined it that hallowed document , and through our voices and dollars once again ring the bell of liberty and tell the people, the enemy is among us and must be expelled. We can magnify our impact by joining and supporting financially those groups who best reflect and represent our values, there are many of them out there.

Re: Al Biesen Help

There's may be some Biesen influence in D'Arcy Echols' stock design but his stocks are very distinct from Biesen's design. The closest design that was on the commercial market was the Pacific Research (Later Borden) Rimrock stock which was a close rendition of the Biesen-Cloward stock design. But those are long out of production and scarce in the current market.

Re: 17hmr good for coyotes?

I haven't had a chance to put a .17 bullet into a coyote yet, but barnyard invaders from striped gopher thru raccoon tell me that there is a big difference between the 17gr fmj that most of them walk away from and the 20gr HP that's stopped everything in its tracks.
I haven't tried any of the gummy-tips, and don't see a need to with the HP performance. The TNT is a very effective coon and cat killer. Even shot coons inside of buildings with them. No exits.

Any legal ramifications for the hunter? I have not yet heard of any. I suspect it would be more likely the feds rather than the state that would press charges since the DNR has long argued there are no wolves in the lower peninsula. Illinois DNR has long claimed that lions, wolves, and bears do not exist in our state. However, it wasn't till a few years ago the hunting regulations included "they cannot legally be harvested".

Re: Programming a Baufeng UV-5R transceiver

Most hand held transceivers connect to your computer via a USB cable (computer end) to both the earphone and microphone jacks (transceiver end).
You need a free program called CHIRP, which allows you to enter transmit and receive frequencies, access tones, etc. When you connect the two, and start CHIRP, the first thing you will do is DOWNLOAD FROM RADIO. Then populate the spreadsheet with your desired frequencies, and click UPLOAD TO RADIO. In a few seconds, it will be done.
For the radios I'm familiar with, the cable is available for about $3 from AliExpress.
Remember, the penalties are very high for operating on frequencies that you shouldn't, and if you don't have a ham license, operating on ham frequencies will make you about as welcome as a poacher on this board.
Good luck. PM me if I can help further.
