Sure does not look like it . Both of those shoots were great, with the Libby MT. being outstanding. It's a shame there are no others. Let us hope there is another so we can shoot those charging jugs! I always imagined the shoot always being around and even growing.

Gunbrokers does have its faults. They often sell guns not listed anywhere else, especially used versions. As a buyer I prefer looking elsewhere to avoid the sales tax (Tennessee is 9.5%). But as a seller I like it. If I fail to sell a gun on one of the popular forums (like here) it will be listed on Gunbrokers and the majority of the time it will net more cash after all fees.

Re: Have you ever owned a car that had the finest Corinthian leather??

Does Corinthian leather come from Corinthian cows ? Back in those days, the curious soon figured out that the "Corinthian" label was just a sales term made up by some ad agency. Once knew a guy who worked in the leather factory that made the stuff - up in central NJ not too far from NYC. So, probably mixed skins from a slaughterhouse.

Well from looking at where most of you are from, I doubt any of you even know what a gun dog is let alone sporting dog and most likely just have a dog around for just a pet. Who cares what name they give the dog forum.
Someone mentioned something about dogs being used to flush birds for a Hawk. Yeah the hawk is used instead of a gun and the dogs used for it are flushing breeds like Black lab, Chesapeake, golden lab ect. Still a gun dog no matter how they used for hunting. Dogs used for competition hunts are still gun dogs no matter how you look or don't look at it.
Many of you also own guns and that don't mean most of you are hunters, far from it actually.

Speaking of USPS money orders. I sent in a trigger and a MO for $85. The post office lost it, then charged me $7.00 to look for a MO they lost. Six months later I got my money back but never saw the trigger again.

Flying in the face of popularity...no discussion of commercial Mauser suitability would be complete without mention of the Remington Model 30 Express, merely a Remington factory sporterized US Model of 1917, which was in fact a 'pure' Mauser stolen from Germany by the Brits to produce the Enfield P-14. Mauser did not bother to sue the Brits, since they were killing each other at an alarming rate at the time. In any event, the nickel steel 1917 has been used in some of the most powerful cartridges without problems. Springfield eventually had to convert 1903 production to nickel steel, to resolve their heat treat boondoggles. The 1917 had an unfairly deserved reputation for less accuracy than the '03...that was caused by the Camp Perry matches of 1918, in which 1917 rifles were issued with no provision for windage adjustment. Scorebooks issued to shooters for that match had pictures of how much Kentucky windage to hold in a 5 mph and 10 mph wind. Small wonder the '03 won. Anyone building a one off rifle would do well to consider the "American made Mauser" as a foundation...if one would consider the obsolete .30-06 as a cartridge, the 5 groove nickel steel cut rifled barrel would be hard to beat. If anybody is interested, CMP has a thorough article online re the 1917.
