Same here. Poor family with a drunken abusive father. My older brother is a self-made businessman. My younger brother is a nurse practitioner. And I did 26 years in the Air Force, retiring as a CMSgt ( highest enlisted grade) with a Masters Degree. If you WANT to succeed in America, there are many ways to do so. If you want to wallow, there is a lot of slop and plenty to share it with.
