Up until a few years ago I never would have considered putting a scope on a lever gun. I have always preffered peep sights on lever guns. I liked keeping them traditional and they handle nicer.
But like a lot of you my eyes have changed as I have gotten
older. My Marlin 1894 CL in 25-20 is one of my favorite squirrel rifles and it was just getting to hard to make those small head shots in the dark woods. I installed a Weaver K2.5 on it and now I really enjoy hunting with it again. Just for fun I mounted a Burris 2.5 power pistol scope with quick detach mounts on a 30-30 Marlin Glenfield. With the extended eye relief I was able to leave the peep sights on.
My 1886 SRC and Winchester M-94 will stay with peep sights.
I guess sometimes we have to swallow our pride a little bit.
