Just find an in-stock .270 barrel twisted 1:9, have it contoured to the #1, DONATE IT and have it to the gunsmith by the end of the week.

Bump for a wonderful man. While I know he's killed truckloads of game, there are two things I remember most about Bob.
1) When I was quite new to the Campfire, he was discussing...yup, the 7MM Mashburn and was more than willing to email me information, and
2) He doted on his grandchildren (as it should be) and if memory serves me correct, outfitted them with pairs (did you catch that SKANE?) of Yosemite binoculars.
