Starting on a 6BR in the near future but having a hard time on stock choice.
I have a couple of McMillan Classics but that's the only stock I am familiar with.
I'm looking to use the rifle for 90% range work, paper and steel out to 5-600 yards, with the occasional groundhog and crow pot shot. I'm thinking I should be twisting 1/8 to shoot the 105 Berger, but still would like to shoot some 75-90g bullets as well. I'll be doing this on a SA 700, ......will I have problem with the magazine and the ability to seat the 105s out far enough to touch the lands or do I need to go to another magazine system? I would think I wouldn't have any issue but better ask the ones in the know first.
Does anyone have any experience with the Winchester marksman stock? I'm not a big fan of the A series of stocks, and I really love the HTG but the low comb height scares the crap out of me. I don't want something that's is too wide in the forend and real thick in the grip area.
