I own and use 4 Weatherby's (240, 257, 270, and 30-378 in an Accumark). I'd suggest a 257. I'd just avoid heating the barrel up if one is going light weight. A wonderful Hells Canyon cartridge.
I live in eastern Oregon, and have had some bedding issues as my Weatherby stocks have dried and moved a bit for a couple of years. I love the warmth and character of wood, however, and am more than willing to rectify those issues. 1Minute
