I guess my longest perfect shot occurred in Montana, in Oct of 1994. I was hunting Mule Deer in the Fort Peck area out side of Jordan, MT. A little under 500 yards a 130 gr Speer SP loaded in a 270 Winchester. The rifle was a M-70 Super Grade and it had a 3.5 to 10 Leupold scope. No turrets or any of that other high tech stuff, Scope set on 6 x , drilled that deer right thru the heart. The guy that was with me though I hit it in the hams. Because his back end dropped then he got up walked in a little semi circle and fell over. These days, with my current hunting a 120 long steps would be a long shot. I would like to go back there one day and do another hunt but with a 30-30 winchester and see how close I can really get.
