I just stumbled across this thread and a lot of the names such as I Drang and A Shau are familiar to me because my Dad was there from '65 to '68 or thereabouts. I believe he was first there with the 1st Cav and later with the 82nd. Anyway, I am sure he was 1st platoon, alpha company, 2/8 Cav. He was wounded, shot twice through both upper thighs but was lucky he didn't lose anything or die. He can still out squat or deadlift me anyday. His name is Mike Friedrichs, and he was from Aurora, IL. I'm sure it's a longshot but seeing these familiar words I had to mention it.
