I am in search of answers I just became the owner of an 1899 savage carbine that was fully restored by Savage in the early 70s adn has not been fired since. I was taking the stock off to give the action a cleaning and reoiling when I noticed a threaded hole in the action area. And my question am I missing a screw if what what is the purpose of this threaded hole. Photo attached.
