If you're thinking .260, think Remington 120 Accutip load. That was our favorite when we had a snubnosed Ruger Compact, and it killed very well albeit no shot longer than 100 yards on deer.

So I checked Rem's ballistics table, just now, and the 120 AT outperforms all the other loads in .260. Shoots flatter to 500 (-41 in.) and carries more energy (1,146 ft. lbs.) than the other heavier rounds.
