One more for Shimanos. In my younger days I was an extreme pike fisherman. Used Mitchell and Shakespeare only to lose fish to drag issues. Only used bait cast for several years till a friend showed me how smoooooth a Shimano drag was. He set it really light and let the weight of the reel lower itself to the ground. Absolutely steady - just like a spider! Haven't had one that has disappointed me since.
