The race to see how many bearings can be jammed into a spinning reel is outrageous

I have several new ultra light reels and have seen and used some ( Stella) that are off the charts expensive.

I still think that my little Mitchell 308 reels with 6 lb line are equal to any in actual fish catching performance. They have some handle squeaks now and then, and they do not have the ball bearing smooth retrieve.

But they are 30 plus years old and work as good now as they did when I took them out if the box. 25 bucks should get you one in excellent condition. It's built as solid as any reel ever made
