Actually it does. Extended ready, IE arms straight, with your muzzle pointed at your potential adversaries' feet, is about a quarter of a second faster.
Sorry, that's bullshit. Pushouts are WAAAAY faster than pullups, by at least 0.2 seconds. I've proved it with hundreds of students, using timers. The best ready position is with the muzzle forward, gun close to the chest. It ain't "low ready". Me and my training partners call it "Mo ready".
