That's so true, seriously though I have to say even after all these years of being around deer I am always surprised by their weight. They never weigh what I would expect. Take the doe my friend shot yesterday she was nice and fat and her trunk length and girth was easily the size of a St Bernard we use to have. The dog weighed about 168 lbs but this doe I guessing would probably weigh in at 120 lbs or less. The dink was noticeably longer and more pot bellied than my old lab but I'm Guessing the deer would weigh in the 60 lb range my chubby lab weighed 78 lbs. maybe it's bone density or just pure muscle but deer are always weigh in surprisingly light
