I got my first one as a Christmas present in 1983, a tang safety Ruger 77. Shot only handloads through it and sold it when I moved to Texas.

Finally bought another .458 WM from Ken Howell that he had built by Iver Henriksen on a Mauser action. Sweet rifle! I shoot everything from Hornady 350 gr @ 2300fps (accuracy load) to 520gr "Government Bullets" intended for the Sharps @ 1850fps. The WW factory 500 & 510 gr ammo shoots OK, but not good as my handloads.

I love the caliber. Get a stock that fits you and you'll never be sorry you bought one.
