Nice rifle and setup.
We talked about Weaver T7 mounts a month or so ago and compared some pics and they seemed to be mounted/drilled in slightly different locations which would imply after market additions.
Did Savage offer? I doubt it, but,..
Belding & Mull was another early scope/mount manufacturer and their literature states 99's were recommended to be sent to their factory for proper mounting. Would have 2 holes in the barrel just behind the rear dovetail (an installed rear sight hides the holes) and 2 holes on either side of the cocking indicator. While some of us have guns drilled for the B&M configuration I don't think any of us has one or has actually seen a B&M setup,..yet.
