My name is Kevin
I enlisted in the Navy in September of 1974 at Santa Barbara Ca.
Basic training was at Orlando Florida.
I spent 2 months at the Naval Station at Memphis TN
I spent the rest of my enlistment on Board the USS INDEPENDENCE CV-62, which was an aircraft carrier.
I was part of the ship's company and worked for the legal officer. When I was honorably discharged I was a YN-2. I flew home from my 2nd Mediteranean Cruise from Naples Italy in late September 1977. My enlistment was only 3 years because they could not provide me with the school that they had guaranteed me. So I was honorably discharged early. But I had a great experience, learned a lot, and definitely would do it all over again.
