Thanks. My interest in Elmer basically started with my interest in handguns and a short while later expanded to firearms and hunting period. Reading his articles in various publications plus gradually acquiring many of his books became a regular search for info and experiences, some of which I'll never gain. In the early to mid 70's, I made a decision to go visit him and made arrangements with him by mail to do so. I actually met with him twice. On that 1st trip, I spent the day with him at his home in Salmon Idaho and the following photo is one I had him pose by my truck as I was preparing to leave.
The 2nd meeting was at a gun show in Kalispell Montana a year or two later. That was just after he had been awarded the 1st Handgunner of The Year award. I consider meeting Elmer the highlight of my experiences shooting, firearms involvement and hunting.
