Motivated ignorance is as old as humans, and certainly not worth writing about in that context. Cognitive drivel there.
Decent folks who try to live via solid values/principles and deal with reality simply tire of hearing stuff from the deceitful and delusional.
Deceitful and delusional folks are afraid to hear what is said by those who behave otherwise.
