It's hot and muggy right now. Tucson area is better than Phx area as far as the weather and social climate go, but politically Pima County is a democrat hole. In the 60s and 70s it was a fairly decent university town with a nice Hispanic influence. Since then the pop has grown and development spread tremendously.

Much influx of illegals and all that come with that (it's been a "Sanctuary") has diluted the old culture. There are a few small pockets of nice places to live in town, but lots of nice desert and foothill residential locations in surrounding communities and the county area. Most of Tucson proper seems messy and degraded in class - and there are BIG crime problems in much of that city. At busy times they have very bad traffic low east/west, and north/south is not much better - never planned/built good E/W arteries.

I enjoyed the area and still like it, but would NOT live in the city itself and would go into there as little as possible. Then again, am, spoiled rotten by where we live.
