I have a 11 year old Toro with a Kohler engine. Change the oil once a year and grease whatever fitting is has on pulleys and drives.

Never had a thing go wrong with it yet except for a spring rusting.

Quads/Motorcycle, etc., are all once a year with conventional because of the internal clutches and what not


I used 15W50 Mobil 1 automotive oil in a Triumph Bonneville for 9 years before I ever heard that it wasn't good for wet clutch systems. The clutch never started slipping even a little bit. I've now been using it in a 650 Burgman for about the same length of time and the wet clutch system in it still functions as it always did.

Supposedly, some of the synthetic motor oils have additives which will foul a wet clutch, and some say that Mobil 1 automotive oil is one of them.

It's done alright by me.
