Traces of blueing show in hidden places.
Don, the guy I got it from said he inherited from his Dad. His Dad got it from the guy whose name is engraved on the bottom of the receiver. The original owner had hocked it in the 1930's or '40's, the Dad bought the pawn ticket and got it from the pawn shop. All of this supposedly happened in Northern Washington, around Bellingham I believe. I wrote everything up and put it away where it's not accessible right now.
I believe that's C grade checkering. I've got to get an education on the early checkering for the next book.
