I’m not trying to talk you out of re-boring your .30-06, but I think I would take it to .35 Whelen if I were going that route. Better selection of factory ammo and plenty of good bullets around; amongst them the 225 Partitions. If there are big bears about, the .35W is plenty for close encounters of the worst kind.JMO.
