I've had 2 270's at one time or another. Fine rifles but never did just fall in love with them. I had a Sako 7mm mag and a Rem 700 in the same and got tired of the recoil. I enjoy taking rifles to the range and shooting anywhere from 25-75 rounds through them and the 7 just didn't let me enjoy that. Accuracy was fine and it worked well on elk and the little hill country whitetail.
The 264 is my favorite. Light enough recoil, supremely accurate for a factory rifle (.5-.7" groups) drops elk and whitetail like the 7 does and best of all, I can take it to the range and shoot 50-75 without needing an arm in a sling on the way home.
