I put 330K miles on a '97 with the 2.4 engine. Started using a little oil at 225K, that went away with using high mileage oil. Absolutely LOVED that little truck. Have a 2009 with 200K on it -- don't like it at all. Crappy transmission, floats like a boat. One of the guys on the farm has a Tundra with 285K on it, and the starter just died. Apparently, that's a $800 job in the shop? Rented a Tundra a couple of months ago and drove it for almost 2,000 miles, half of it loaded. The redhead hated it so much, she told me in no uncertain terms there was to be NO more Tundra's in our future. Just rambling, but I guess it comes down to the reliability of Toyota's only goes so far to make up for some of the ergonomic issues the later ones have.
