True volume helps, but it also helps Walmart on price leverage to get cheaper products.

Their buyers say we want this product at this price and you need to deliver. they are not gun nuts that would cry if a plastic sight came instead of a steel one. They are graded on price and profit to Sam.

I know Toro sells de-featured lawn mowers to the box stores for that very reason.
