OK. Bought a new Caldwell Ballistic chronograph. Today finally got to shoot again . This 270 load is right out of the Barnes manual. Also is a max load in the Barnes manual. 129 gr Barnes LRX. I used 59.5gr Rel 19. Win 70 270 24" Bbl. Win brass, Win LR primer. 12' in front of chrono. 3259 fps. Barnes manual used federal 210M primers. This velocity is getting into 270 WSM territory. Manual shows 3211fps so my rifles shoots slightly faster. BC of this bullet is .469. I find this load very satisfying. Still to much snow for me to use my range. Maybe in a week or two. Good accuracy will be the cherry on top of this rifle. Might add the Barnes manual list this load with their 130gr TSX/TTSX bullet. The LRX because it is a longer bullet than the TSX has a little less bullet body contacting the rifling , This allows it to have less friction & slipperier going down the barrel. Hope this info is of interest to you 270 shooters out there. Remember, squeeze that trigger.
